Upgraded MobileMe to iCloud and now can't connect to my Time Capsule at home with Back to My Mac

Apparently this isn't possible. This was never discussed publicly before the iCloud launch. All that was said was Back to my Mac would continue working. I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything, even after the iCloud launch. Made the switch, my AirPort started yelling at me because of MobileMe credentials. I've been waiting for an AirPort update but have still been digging. Just found this:

Talk about a footnote. This should have its own article, not be like, "Oh everything will still work great! ... ... ...

I'm not too happy about this.

I suspect this is because iCloud doesn't seem to provide a personal wide area bonjour domain (http://www.dns-sd.org/) like MobileMe. DynDNS offer such a service for a fee but it takes a bit of work to get it going. You'd have to set a "global dynamic hostname" for each machine, unfortunately it doesn't "just work" but once it's setup it's fine.

Surely the whole idea of changing or upgrading things is to improve them not to make things worse. MobileMe was excellent, did everything I needed, now I have iCloud which does half of what I want and seems to do only half of that well.........disappointed.

To be quite frank - a really like MobileMe BTMM feature of accessing the my TC. My hope was that iCloud woul have integrated TC and iCloud into an even better backup solution - Not this.

This is a really serious step back in time and NOT the time machine I was looking for!

I agree this is a huge set back. I used that feature all the time to access files on my USB drive that was connected to my airport extreme.

I agree, it's a step backwards if I can't go back to my time capsule / airport disks. I hope Apple is working on this.
