iphone battery dead after ios 5 update

After a lengthy ios5 update my phone was at 100% charge so I didn't charge it overnight as I normally do. In the morning the phone was so dead that I had to plug in the charger to get it to respond. Not sure why it would be completely dead after 8 hours of standby, in Edge mode to boot? Also I am missing purchased ringtones though they are still in iTunes. Any help is appreciated.

With (freely available from AppStore) netstat application I see active https connection to 2.22.240.224, which is open currently for 42 (fourty two) minutes already. I have no idea what is 2.22.240.224, but it you try to connect via browser to https://2.22.240.224, you're getting certificate for the name 'configuration.apple.com'.

Somehow I feel that keeping the connection open for 40+ minutes is not exactly the thing mobile device should do. 😟

I upgraded my AT&T iPhone 4 last night and today I notice a HUGE battery drain.

I unplugged my iphone from the charger this morning, 6:30AM PST, like I have done for the past 8 months, and today by 12:00PM PST, my battery was down to 15% 😮. I have not done anything differently today, than I have in the past, in regards to usuage.

Prior to the upgrade, I wouldn't have to put my phone on the charger till at leat 9:00PM PST.

Something is diffenately wrong with IOS 5, settings, apps or who knows what, but solutions need to be made public.
