Yahoo! email not pushing

That's weird. Mine has alwasys been on 50 emails. Sigh.

Im pretty sure that it's either the apple server for the yahoo mail or the yahoo server for the apple mail. It is just coincidental all these other "fixes". I've been having this problem long before ios5. Its so annoying! I have my google mail connected to my iPad as well and don't have that problem, so that eliminates any setting on the iPad as a fix.

Mine is still not working..any ideals?

Seriously through I am having the same issue. Tried all the tricks listed here and still no mail. How do we get someone to officially acknowledge this issue? Yahoo is my primary mail account, I need this fixed.

What i have done to circumvent the problem is use safari to open yahoo mail and then saved an icon to theHome screen. This didnt solve any issues. But it does let me see my most up to date emails until the problem is solved. And it works pretty well. Hope this eases some frustration.

Mine stopped working and only worked for half a day. Not pushing again. Worked fine before the upgrade. I don't know what to do.

Did something that worked for me. YMMV

moved all the emails that the iphone could not download to a test subfolder in yahoo (using a web interface)

then moved them back, one at a time, to the inbox, checking that iphone mail app can see the moves.

by the time I hit the last email, yahoo was having issues opening that one on the server.

Tried that because I noticed that sending using the iphone mail app was working fine, and it seemed to want to download, but was choking on something. in this case, the last email was preventing the rest from downloading.

if we assume yahoo servers had a hiccup around that same date (sept 12) and a lot of users had at least one "clog" email, then that would exlpain the collective odd behaviour.

or I may just have caught a lucky break.

You can actually save some time by going through your mail via the web interface and seeing which ones have trouble loading. I found about 5 from around mid-September. Once I deleted them, the rest started pouring into my iPhone and iPad mailbox.

wow! this really did work,!! i was about to give up hope, endlessly searchig for answers since i got the ios 5 update.

(btw the way i did it was i deleted the latest emails i got pushed "from server" which weirdly were all from ebay on sept 22-23 2011. i refreshed and my newest emails aperared! )

Same thing happened to me.... SOLUTION:

Go to yahoo.com, click 'forgot my password' and go through the steps to have it reset.

I don't know if its just a coincidence, but yahoo randomly decided that my passwords (i have 2 yahoo accounts) were invalid.

Changing the password, and entering it in iphone worked perfect.

Thanks so much! Your idea worked for me. I was cursing iOS 5 for such a major headache--email is such an important function in any iOS device and for it not to work is such a shame.

What I did was to delete messages (using web mail) around the problematic time period (during which the push seemed to stop working). If other people don't want to do this, then they perhaps can move those messages out of the Inbox and into any other folder.

Afterwards, my email began to work perfectly. Thanks again! :-)

I've been experiencing this issue long before ios5. On my iPad btw. I've also deleted messages bot the problem still creeps up. Days will go by when nothing happens. I always get a message that says the apple yahoo server can't make a connection. I still think there is an issue here.
