Hey romad...I understand how you feel. I did have some mail issues prior to upgrading to 5.1.1 so I'm not so sure it is apple. Plus, why would yahoo keep responding that their engineers are working on it if it's not their problem? Anyway, I filled out that customer care form on yahoo's site. Not that it will do any good mind you! LOL!

Now that i think about it Romad...you're probably right. Yahoo and Apple probably have a meeting occasionally to blame the other one about what's going on here. But there really is no ramification for not doing anything about it. I mean, what line of communication is there between the consumer and yahoo and/or apple to initiate change in this area? Occupy Yahoo/Apple I say! LOL!

Wow, quite a bit of recent activity. As others have noted, Yahoo email push has started to randomly work for me again over the past few weeks. I didn't change anything, add accounts, etc... I really think this is a yahoo issue, and there just isn't anybody left at yahoo to respond to bugs.

It is a Yahoo! problem.
I now have my Yahoo! mails forward to iCould, and it pushes fine.
If you are having the same problem, please log your incident at the following link. You will be prompted to sign in.
Adding a dummy Yahoo! account to my iPad does not work, though it does for some users here.

I just received a response from yahoo customer care which I have posted below. I will say its quite humorous considering issues with yahoo mail have been going on, on and off, for over a year.
Thank you for contacting Yahoo! Mail.
I understand that you're still experiencing difficulty with iPhone push. I know this can be frustrating.
Unfortunately, it seems that it is taking longer than expected to resolve this issue, but rest assured that we are still intently working toward the answer.
Please note that due to varying factors that go into resolving this type of issue, such as diagnosis, troubleshooting, and implementing the fix, we will not be able to provide an estimated time on when this issue will be resolved. However, we do plan on having this issue resolved as soon as possible; and we appreciate your patience while we work on a resolution.
Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mail.

I was one of the few people who had Yahoo mail pushing with the help of a dummy account. Yesterday, I had to restart my phone for the first time in probably half a year. I realized after my phone booted, my Yahoo mail wasn't pushing anymore. What I did was delete and re-add my dummy account. Thankfully, Yahoo mail started pushing again afterward. I'm beginning to think this is an iPhone issue, and not only a Yahoo issue. What a hassle! #firstworldproblems

My Yahoo! will no longer push no matter what I do, adding a dummy account or not, or removing/adding the account back. It just will not push! Yahoo! does acknowledge they have a problem!

Not sure my issue is exactly the same but has similar components. I have 4 devices:
2 iPads, 2 iPhone 4. Each had the same 2 yahoo mail accounts successfully working. Lets call them yahoo mail 1 and yahoo mail 2. When I originally got the 2 iPhones several months ago (iPhone A and IPhone B) I was unable to get yahoo mail 2 to work on IPhone B. It worked fine on all 3 other devices and the yahoo mail 1 worked fine on all 4 devices. One day yahoo mail 2 mysteriously started working. I am not sure what if anything I did.
Fast forward to yesterday. I upgraded 3 devices (one iPad is iPad 1 so couldn't upgrade) to IOS6. 2 out of 3 were successful and there were no issues. iPhone 2 had to be restored by my friends at the Apple store (there was no backup to PC or cloud). I said I'd set up email at home not thinking there would be an issue. Yahoo mail 1 setup easily and with no problems. Not so with the same yahoo mail 2 account. I am now back to several months ago with same problem on same iPhone with same yahoo mail account.
Some things to note: password is the same on yahoo mail 2 as it is on yahoo mail 1. I am afraid to change the password for fear I will lose access for some strange reason on the other devices. Also,The settings are exactly the same across all 4 devices and both accounts.
I thought at a minimum we could share notes and that perhaps someone recently is experiencing the problem and knows the fix
