How can I delete photos from the PhotoStream?

I'm wondering the same thing but it looks like it isn't possible. Apple is starting to **** me off. I used to be such a huge fan but lately they have been disappointing.

I haven't seen a way to do this, either.

At the very least you should be able to set a delay for when it begins uploading to your photo stream.

An example last night I was playing with it and took a bunch of random pictures in my kitchen and they immediatley uploaded. Now I have them all on my Photostreamand I wish I could get them off

I have the same problem, after digging into it, i found that you can not delete the pictures from photo booth like picture by picture but you can delete the whole library by logging into icloud.com and then after you log in, on the top right corner you will see your name next to Sign out, Click on your name, and then click Advanced, and there you will see an option Reset Photo Stream.

That's the only way that I know of as of know, I'm pretty sure an update will solve this issue.

I understand your frustation - I was feeling the same a few hours ago, but I managed to understand all these new changes and we need to face it and adapt to them... they are the bosses here.

wrong. we are the bosses. If the consumers dislike what the manufactures are making, then we stop buying. Seriously, apple is starting to act like facebook (which I recently quit). We ask them for the ability to delete apps from purchase history and what do they do? They make it so you can't delete photos from photostream. Great job apple. I'm about to take my brand new mac back and get a pc for half the price and I'll actually be able to play games like bf3 on it. smfh

Do the procedure to delete the photo of icloud.com not delete the photo from yourMac or your IOS device, to delete from their devices you need to disablesynchronization of photos on these devices.

This is absurd! I lost too much time to get delete unwanted pictures! If I take pictures, and do not want to stay on my mac and not on my iPhone? Hello Apple ...it's time to wake up .... just put in the trash to use this tool

Currently, the only way to delete photos within PhotoStream is to turn-off the feature within Settings. You will get a warning that ALL photos will be deleted. You can then turn it back-on and get a fresh start.

Isn't Photo Stream supposed to be the transfer method from one device to the others?

The problem is that PhotoStream keeps every picture taken and won't allow us to delete anything directly. It appears to keep accumulating photos until the 30 day retention is reached (or you hit the 1,000 photo limit).

Go to the support page bottom right corner; under "Other Resources" click "Support Site Map", then click "iCloud". Click the "Photo Stream" icon and your answers will set before you. Ain't this stuff fun?

You can reset your Photo Stream any time by visiting your account view on icloud.com. Resetting Photo Stream will remove all Photo Stream photos from your iCloud account.It will not remove any photos that have already been downloaded to your iOS device or computer.

This is the problem.

On your iOS device, you can remove photos from the Photo Stream view by turning off Photo Stream and then optionally turning it back on. You can do this at Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream.

If you added any Photo Stream photos to other albums or the Camera Roll on your iOS device, you can locate and delete these photos manually, if desired.

And if I have a 500 photos? how long will be? Apple didn't make a easy way! This start to become a windows!

On your Mac, you can clear cached photos from the Photo Stream view in iPhoto or Aperture by turning off Photo Stream and then optionally turning it back on. You can do this in each application by visiting Preferences > Photo Stream.

If you had Automatic Import enabled in your Photo Stream settings, your Photo Stream photos were also imported to your iPhoto or Aperture Library, and will remain after you disable Photo Stream. If you would like to delete any of these photos from your library, you can to do so manually any time you like.

Photo Stream is a new concept, so it confused me at first, just as it confused others.

I am looking a bit closer at the intent now, and why it is Photo "Stream".

Think of photo stream only as a fast and easy way to make your photos available to all devices without you needing to do anything extra. It's just a replacement for needing to attach your iPhone to your Mac to transfer photos.

The "Stream" is just your film roll, not the subset of photos you want to keep.

When you want to "keep" the photos, you do select the photos you like from the stream and copy them to the device you want to keep them on.

Actions like sharing, or editing, or putting in an album create permanent copies of the photos on the device you perform that action on.

As far as I can tell, your stream is for you and your devices and is not shared with others (unless they have your apple ID).

Although not being able to delete individual photos is confusing at first, that capability is probably not really needed since the real collection of photos you care about should be the ones you copy out of the stream, not the ones that are jumbled up in the stream.

Step 1:

Make sure you log into iCloud in a web browser (www.icloud.com)

Click your user name in the top right.

Click Advanced.

Click reset Photo Stream

Now, your photos will still be in the "Stream" on each device... but the "cloud" stream is empty.

Step 2:

On each device you want to empty, disable Photo Stream (say "yes" when it asks to delete your photo stream photos)

Then, you can enable Photo Stream again.

(you do not have to do it on all devices at once or anything, just do them as you get around to it)

Just remember, Step 1 resetting Photo Stream on iCloud must be done first to clear the stream.

Then Step 2 actually removes the stuff that was already pushed onto each device.
