The icloud is as grey as the clouds in Toronto.  Something must be wrong with the Apple Server.  I have the same problem as you...

This is happening to countless people right now.  It seems that some (not all) of the IMAP servers Apple uses for mail services do not have the correct iCloud password for the user, which causes Mail on the iPhone/iPad/iTouch and the Mac OS X Mail application to frequently throw errors about a password being incorrect (when in fact it is not).

I can verify my password in the iCloud set up screen in iOS, but the Mail application still throws errors.

I am sure Apple is working on this, but please do reply to this thread so they know the scope and grand impact this is having on users.

What is going on? I am having the same issue on my iPhone. But I am able to login to my iCloud account on my computer but when I try to click on the mail app, an error comes up saying that it cannot load mail. It gives me the option of reload, report to Apple, or close mail. Can someone please look into getting this fixed ASAP?

I'm having the same issue, with Mail, iPhone, and iPad.

Occasionally emails do come through despite the warnings, so I really think it's just a matter of information propogation on the servers' end, but it'd **** annoying in the meantime.

Same problem for me on my MacBook.

And the only way to stop it is using Force Quit. The Cancel button on the popup window does nothing.

A while ago I was able to see some of my emails by logging in via Safari but that only happened once and was very, very slow. Have not been able to see emails via the web since then.

A duh. Apple introduced a new service, a new iOS, an update to OS X, and there's some 60 million plus iPhone users globally, plus a few tens of millions of iPad users, plus all the millions of Mac users all trying to upgrade all their stuff at the same time. You think that doesn't put a load on the servers and create a few hiccups along the way? Once the load starts to subside and Apple works out the remaining kinks it will be fine. You're just gonna have to be patient. Not many corporations could hope to roll out an update to more than 100 million devices collectively in a day and not have an issue or two.
