During installation of iTunes, it says "There is a problem with Windows Installer Package. A program required for this to install ro complete could not be run. Contact your personnel or package vendor." What do I do?

I have the same issue. I have uninstalled all apply products, yet i get the same message every time i attempt to install itunes.

Same problem on my laptop, very frustrating.

So we all have this same issue and has anyone seen a solution?

On another discussion I saw the following:

1. Click on Start menu

2. On search bar, search for apple software updater

3. Click on the program and it should open up and start searching apple updates ie iTunes 10.5

I have the same problem that everyone else is having.

All that came up when I tried to run the apple software updater was a notice saying that the parameter was incorrect.

Has anyone else found any other solutions?

This is what worked for me:

I went to the uninstall a program menu, clicked on apple software update, clicked repair.

Once the repair finished, I tried downloading itunes again, and it worked.
