The update to iOS 5 on my iPhone took well over an hour.  You better have a lot of time on your hands when you do the update.  Apple should warn people.

I did my update last night at around 5:30 and it took about 35 minutes for the download and then about 20 minutes for the update and restore to happen on my phone. If you have other things to do it doesn't seem like that long.

I understand.  But let's be clear here.  What you describe here is nearly an hour.  Mine took an hour and a half.  (Maybe I had more stuff, who knows?)

I am just saying that either is a long time.  I have installed entire computer operating systems in less time.

But, on the bright side, it seems to work fine.

Mine took over an hour just backing up the phone, even after I deleted all content off of it. My wifges on the other hand ran over 3 hours and the PC rebooted for a windows update, I restarted it and her back up after 1.5 hours was barely showing any progress.
