iCloud mail server, not working, The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user.

Apple is having some teething issues with iCloud; it appears to be working fine right now.

iCloud mail is not working at iCloud.com. there is some issue with the website.

This problems seems to come and go - Never had this issue with Mobileme

Interestingly mail works for my iPhone and iPad - only seems to be an issue (every other day) on the MAC

Probably different iCloud Mail server - suspect it is overloaded

My e-mails have been on and off (more off than on) and the iCloud status doesn't even show a single issue.

As noted above, it is more obvious on the Mac as it keeps prompting for the password, while not at all on the iPhone or iPad but emails on these latter devices are not showing either.

This, and similar issues on MobileMe before the release of iCloud, has been going for the past week to 10 days.

Please Apple, fix it!

Yes, it appears to be down for everyone - at least it seems that way. All devices, online. Nothing mentioned on Apple's site yet, but you absolutely aren't alone. Give it a little time. Sadly, Apple has been plagued with these problems since iCloud's launch.

Same here. My devices seem to work without much of a glitch but my Mac asks for the password for a time. I have to shut down and restart for it to work. All ok for time and then it happens again. Is it a server problem or some sort of time out problem related to mail?

This is the answer I got from a forum posting I started about the same problem. It was given to me by another poster, Tosan. It seemed to work for me.

I read in an earlier message to change settings in mail preferences.

Mail-Preferences-Advanced-Authentications-

Change from Apple Token to Password.

Worked for me.
