Safari ios 5 crashing

Downloaded iOS 5, and it worked fine. I just tried to open safari, and it crashes. Tried restarting, still does not work. However, if I enable safe mode, it works fine. Any ideas?

This is on the iPad original

MIne crashes after using private browsing. I fixed it by turning on private browsing, opening safari and going to a webpage. Leaving safari open I hit the home button and go to settings and turnoff private browsing and when asked if I want to clear all the tabs I say keep them all. Safari didn't crash after that. See if that works for you too.

I just tried this on my iPad 1 and then every time I troed to open Safari it crashed. I tried resetting my ipad, no luck. The I went into settings, cleared all histories, cookies, and website data. Obviously it's now working since I'm writing this. I was surprised, however, that even though I had erased all cookies my Apple ID login for Discussions was still automatically filled in. I will now try working with Safari open for awhile and report back.

Anothe little problem, when I go to type in replies in Discussions I get a flash of a tool bar for formatting my reply and then it immediately disappears, leaving just a blank open space to type. Guess I have to research that next.

The hours I have wasted since installing ios5!!! I would be so happy to go back to 4..., especially since I have no intention of upgrading to Lion and making much of my current software useless.

O.k. Then, seems like clearing not only history, but cookies and data and website data has solved the crashing problem for the past hour! Not a single crash! I opened 10 tabs, too.

The only thing I can't figure out is, if all cookies were cleared, why are all my logins still in place - so far 5 different sites have retained my user name and passcode for logging in. Wonder how you really clear that info from Safari if you need to?
