Ya think maybe the fact that he posted thirty-eight copies of it throughout the forums had something to do with it?

So posting a revelant post on multiple threads dealing with the same problem is a no-no?  Well, good to know this rule.

@Philly_Phan Perhaps. Whatever the reason, at least Apple's response to it was quick. Unlike to the whole iPad-iOS5 screw-up. Well, Apple is reading the forums, that's for sure.

Perhaps it wasn't relevant at all...

    Did you ever consider that?

Apple does not necessarily read the posts here. There are however many, many folks that will report such posts as Marty's for the self serving rant that it was. Proud to say I was one of those reporting.

That's too bad about Marty's post being deleted, it was the first thing I had seen here since October when I first posted and started following this thread that gave me some hope that Apple was aware of the failures of their new iOS and would finally address it.  My iPad 1 is still a source of frustration rather than the amazing tablet it was for the first year I enjoyed it.  I don't know how PhilyPhan managed to find Marty's post 38 times in different forums but he obviously has more time than I.  I just reread Marty's post and will hold out some hope that I will get the functionality of iOS 4.3 back someday.  Imagine being able to read a newspaper story that is multiple pages without having to restart Safari 2 or 3 times.  Just a fantasy now!

Take it to an Apple Store, demonstrate the problem and ask for resolution or replacement.  There are a large number of iPads that are not experiencing the problem.

Wow, Stedman, self-congratulate much? If Marty's post was a fake, then I'm glad it was removed, however, some humility would go along way. Talk about self-serving.

    Philli,

Do you just come here to chide and quote forum rules? Of course a response from Apple is relevant. So far, despite my best efforts, I'm still sitting on a bunch of iPads that frankly were a waste of corporate money. If Apple doesn't soon address the matter I'll take your former excellent advice and dump a bunch of worthless iPads on eBay or give them to charity for a tax writeoff. I for one am becoming fed up with no response, no support, no functionality, and worst of all, no path to resolution

    Philly,

Already done that several times. Worthless endeavor.

You can get a darned good price for them on eBay.  I honestly do not understand why someone would want to keep a product that causes so much unhappiness.

Philly_Phan, do you not read what is posted here? I've taken my iPad 1 to the genius bar three times. Twice it was wiped, both software and firmware, and restored as a new iPad. The third time the genius assigned to me explicitly told me there was nothing more they could do for me, that it was a software problem that Apple had to fix. Not sure why you need to point out to us that we just need to take our iPads to the Apple store and that others aren't experiencing the problem. Clearly, WE ARE! Believe it or not, I, and I'm sure the others here, have better things to do than to vent our frustration and seek solutions to what I infer from your post you think isn't happening to us, or if it is, we haven't thought to seek out solutions. Geez! If you search out my ID here you'll see I've never posted before my upgrade to ios5. Bully for you that it isn't happening to you. BTW, why are you even here if it isn't??

In that case, I revert to my eBay suggestion.  I've stated repeatedly that I do not understand why someone would keep a product that causes that much unhappiness.
