Net work settings.

I updated my iTunes to the new 10.5 and then I plugged my husband's iPhone 3Gs 8gb phone up to update it to the new IOS 5 and it told me.....


"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone "James' iPhone". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later".


I have googled ways to fix this and haven't been able to fix it. I also plugged my iPhone 3Gs 16gb up and it gave me the same message.


HELP PLEASE!!!
