No Way to Re-order Reminders is iOS 5 - How useless is that?

Same issue. Can't seem to manually reorder in iCal on desktop either. Lame! Apple seems to be slipping up with apps like iCal and Address book (how UGLY were the Lion cosmetic upgrades?)

I have started using Wunderlist which seems to be a good solution and plays nicely with iPhone too...

Thanks for the recommendation Pinxnl: I agree Go Tasks is good. Have now got it on my ipad and iphone and it's performing well, better than anything else I've found.

All I still need is the re-ordering feature to make this app work. Please Apple, fix this.

If anyone should have been capable of making a perfect, simple but well-integrated list-making app, it should have been Apple. This lack of reordering tasks is a real wind-up. Boggles the mind how they managed to leave it out.

It's much too amusing to see "adults" whine and demand when they could pay $1 now for an app that does all they're asking for.

Back to the topic. I also switched to GoTasks on iPad, and use Google Tasks in canvas mode at work and home PC/Mac. Over all, this method works OK, but actually it's a shame that I have to move to Google solutions because Apple doesn't provide the best solution for tasks and reminders 😟

That's not what I'm saying. A task manager app is an essential app for the Apple ecosystem. Reminders integrates in iCal. So far so good. But since it doesn't provide best in class options, I have to move out of Apple's ecosystem. If there's choice, I also would like to have the choice to stay in Apple's ecosystem :-) I have no doubt that Apple will update Reminders for that reason only.

The more I use Google Apps to do what Apple's Apps should do, the easier it will be to switch to droid. They need to listen to the community on the little things. The little things are important... they need to "just work". This one doesn't.

I agree with you flapinux. Demanding customers and competition are the drivers for innovation. By the way, Clear was launched today and comments in the Dutch appstore are positive for the stunning design, but the app lacks functionality (sync features). Next we'll see Steps, which has iCloud and Google Task sync. And finally, after Apple developers have studied these innovative apps, they will come up with the best app for the job: simple, intuitive, nice design and syncing with iCloud/iCal in the right way. I wouldn't switch to droid too soon ....

I don't switch platforms over minor issues... I am pointing out that if people aren't using the apple app simply because it doesn't have full functionality, there comes a time when switching back & forth between phones is much easier - because you're using the google apps that work on both devices. If the "it just works" aspect is missing from something as simple as their task manager, then what's to draw them back?
