Oct 15, 2011 5:25 PM in response to Akssakby arebuffo,Same thing with mine. The minute after upgrading, this happened. Tried everything: plug / un-plug the earphones, reset, restore, etc. And it happened while I'm abroad with no Apple stores around. Really annoying. I guess the phone was faulty and that's it, this is not my first time, it's the 5th phone at least in a year, and this one is not a refurb one, is a brand new out of the box with only 5 months of use.

Oct 16, 2011 12:54 AM in response to Akssakby EzzDee,Same problem with my phone too. The worst part was both loud speaker and regular speaker functions and the mike was dead. I reset the phone and am now back on good old 4.3.5. It works like it was before. I still have problem with my wired headset which does not seem to work. This problem has been there, since the time i got the phone. No idea how to get that fixed.
I was hoping the OS 5.0 would resolve that too, apparently not!!!

Oct 16, 2011 11:00 AM in response to Akssakby Ayman Mansour,Well I recently upgraded my iphone 4 to iOS 5.0 & fortunately I didn't face the same issue but i noticed something related to this topic & might solve this problem. When the phone is locked and you double clicked the home page button ipod will appear then press again the home screen button & hold on it until voice control appears press cancel, you will return back to the ipod while the phone is still locked. You will notice a strange button appeared inside the ipod buttons it looks like play button but it is surrounded by a rectangle, press this button you will find 2 options iphone & iphone speaker choose iphone & try ( Note: if this button didn't appear try again until it appears). Thanks to give me your feedback.

Oct 16, 2011 4:08 PM in response to Ayman Mansourby cpfusco,No dice on the fix Ayman suggested. This is quite frustrating. Everyhitng worked until the upgrade to iOS 5. Has anyone found a fix without a full software wipe?

Oct 16, 2011 7:31 PM in response to cpfuscoby Robert Rogers,Go To Settings-General- accessibility and scroll to the bottom till you get to incoming calls and open it. Se that Default is selected. Also try rebooting your phone.

Oct 17, 2011 1:14 AM in response to HenryGRby mnzakris,Same problem with my phone. Would love a solution. Either how do I download the last operating system or another way. The suggestion from above about the lock screen didn't work.

Oct 17, 2011 9:33 AM in response to Akssakby arebuffo,It's not a software issue, in my case at least. I managed to downgrade to 4.3.3, and still the ear speaker doesn't work. Tried the accessibility trick also, the plug & unplug the earphones, everything. I have to take it to an apple store for an exchange, but it caught me traveling. Luckily I have a backup phone.

Oct 17, 2011 1:12 PM in response to Akssakby Alex Zhelonin,Hey there from Ukraine. Have the same problem after updating my iPhone 4 to 5 iOs. The loud speaker button is always on, while i'm trying to call or someone calls me. And, of course, noone can hear me and i can't hear anybody. It's really annoying, i can't use my device as a phone... tried to downgrade to 4.3.3 - on that firmware everything is ok. Updated again to 5 - the problem came back. I also noticed, that during this bug i can't drop the call with Power button, proximity sensor isn't working too. Ayman's solution didn't help, i found that button, but i have only "iPhone" there.
So, looking for help with this bug, like you all
