Music app doesn't work after upgrade to iOS 5

Hello everyone!

Today I've finally upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS 5... It is a well done job, I have to say. However, my Music app doesn't work anymore.

My iTunes library is about 2 days in total duration and it consists only of music and e-books. On iTunes I'm able to play every song. And the very same it was on my iPad (running iOS 4.3.5 I believe) until today's upgrade.

The symptoms are pretty simple: when I hit play button on any song, it doesn't play it (I hear no sound, the location-bar doesn't move, although the buttons indicate playing). What is wrong with it?

Okay, mine now works here is what I did.

plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
in iTunes select the phone or iPad
Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
Now check them both back on and everything should copy back onto it.
Working now !!!!!

This worked for my situation too, thanks for posting the fix. Mine is an iPhone 4 with an 1800 song library.

I have an iPad 2. I had synced music and videos from iTunes and all was fine. The iPad 2 had a supplied app called iPod which operated all the music.

Then I upgraded the iPad software to version 5, which I guess is IOS 5. Now the iPod app has been replaced with Music. The name change is not a problem. However, now I can't sync any music or videos to the iPad.

Any ideas? Thanks.
