imessage not delivered

I have tried everything short of resetting iphone and setting up as new phone to no avail, this is my last resort. The only other thing that doesn't work on my phone is find my iphone - could this be related?? If I set up phone as new is it possible to resync my contacts from itunes or would I have to write them all down and manually imput them?

I fixed my iMessage on my 3GS by overwriting my APN settings. This actually also fixed my visual voicemail problem that I've been having where my voicemails are there but they don't show up on the list. I used the website unlockit.co.nz

Might not work for you but I felt like it might shed some light in these problems. My specific problem was I could use iMessage on Wi-Fi but not on 3G but who knows, my APN solution may lead you to fixing your problem.

I simply went to "settings" and switched the WiFi button OFF then back ON again and it seems to have done the trick!

Tried everything but in the end ended up with a new phone ( microphone died) got home from apple store restored old phone backup and iMessage works fine now. Good luck to all you guys with problems

This morning I woke up and I had no service on my phone so I turned it off and then back on and ever since when I try and txt my boyfriend using iMessage it won't go through and I have to force my phone to send it as a regular text. I am only having the issue with sending iMessages to his phone. Everyone else who has iMessage I don't have a problem. This is really irritating and cumbersome. I've tried everything I've even called AT&T and they just reset my network settings. Why is this happening with just one person? Anyone think apple will create a new software update with a bug fix? Hopfully. In the mean time... GRRRRR!!!

This is the same issue I am having. iMessage works great with every other iPhone in the world except to my wife's iPhone. Frustrating.

I called apple support and they had me reset my network settings under settings>general>reset>select reset network the phone will power off automatically and power back on. My issue was resolved.

I even tryed reseting my network settings, and it still didn't work!!!!!! 😢

Great : Changeing the DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 worked for me

i had to instal my 3gs as a new iPhone once again, hoping that would get rid of the spontaneous reboots (also during calls). And now i have the imessage-not-deliverd problem. Tried all solutions in this thread (accept reinstalling the iphone as new iphone, as i already did that just now), and nothing worked :-(...

long story short, only solution is to restore as new. (just keep doing it until it works.) luckily iTunes makes this so easy you can do this in about 5-10 minutes depending on your number of apps.

Thanks for the reply, but i already did that. And i don't know if you timed your restores, or whether you have a 8GB model with very few apps, songs, photo's etc, but my restores take considerably longer, more like 45 minutes.
