MobileMe Email address and iCloud

Hi,


I had an MobileMe email address. That account expired. I'm trying to get the same email address with iCloud but it tells me the @me.com address is already taken. Yeah, it's taken by me! How can I reclaim this email. I use the same handle for everything.

Can I keep my MobileMe email address once I move to iCloud?

Only if you have an active MobileMe account when you sign up for iCloud, you can keep your me.com or mac.comemail address and any email aliases you have created and move your MobileMe mail, contacts, and calendars, as well as your bookmarks, to the new service. When you're ready to make the move, go to www.me.com/move.

Inactive or expired MobileMe accounts

Inactive and expired MobileMe accounts do not need to move to iCloud. Simply use your inactive or expired account to sign up for an iCloud account and follow the onscreen instructions. See this article for more information.

Due to this, inactive and expired accs shoul simply move to icloud. Or i don't understand something?

I tried to move from MobileMe to iCloud by going to the move website and it seemed to work. I don't have any files I want to retrieve (I'm sure they've all perished since my account expired) I just want my email handle. My Apple ID was the same until Apple made me change it to an email address for iCloud.


Does anybody know if I will be able to get my original @me.com handle? If I can't, I won't be getting an @me.com email address.

I spoke with an Apple representative. He informed me that I have two accounts. A @me.com account and an @gmail.com account. Although it seemed like they were one in the same, since for a while I could log in to either of them with only the handle and no domain (@...). He told me that if Apple ever supports merging accounts, that will solve my problem.
