I have a Photo Gallery app on my ipad to access all albums on my iMac. With iCloud will I be able to access any album on my Mac on demand like I can now with Photo Gallery app?

HI bweagle, The Photo Gallery app brings you to all the albums you uploaded to your Mobile me photo gallery. All of those albums will be gone in June as there will be no more Photo Galleries and Mobile me.
So it will still work now until June.
There are so many of us who are REALLY unhappy with the dissolution of MobileMe & the Galleries, I'm still holding out hope that Apple finally hears us.
iCloud and this Photostream stuff is fine up to a point, but it is seriously limited and does not do what we can do with our MobileMe Galleries. I'm really torqued at Apple for ignoring us.
I am very dipleased with the pending dissolution of MobileMe Gallery. And what about iDisk? Is it being replaced with iWork? and if so why have they not come out with an iPhone app for it?
I'm absolutely furious about the loss of Galleries and it's severely testing my brand loyalty. Sadly I think the only person at Apple that would have listened to us is no longer with us.

Apple is making a bad decision by dropping MobileMe Gallery. The seemless sync between MobileMe Gallery and iPhoto makes a killer combo. In my opinion (and for my needs), iPhoto is useless without syncing to MobileMe. Apple is pushing me to Picasa and its ability to sync. It seems unwise for Apple to push loyal customers from the convenient and comfortable Apple eco-system to competitor products like Picasa.
Come on Apple, come up with a plan to keep MobileMe Gallery. I don't mind paying (comporable rates to Fliker or Picasa storage) to keep the photo syncing.
I am absolutely enraged that Apple is eliminating iDisk & Gallery. This is the primary way that I communicate with others when I have things to share such as pictures, slideshows, movies of mine. They have taken away our means of communicating and left us with only a way for our personal devices to synchronize with each other. Please Apple reconsider going forward with this action.
I certainly hope Apple has an alternative for I Disk by June. The cloud is useless for pictures, photo stream is a joke.
The only thing the cloud seems good for is calandar, address book and E-Mial if you use it.
Quite. I've already left feedback for Apple here and the more of us that do the more likely this feature is to see a return.

This looks like a "Netflix moment". Presumably, with aqequate negative feedback and talk of migration to the dark side, Apple will see the folly of abandoning customers just as Netflix did recently and recant on a very stupid decision. Let's hope that this does not indicate that changes in company leadership will fail to recognize customer needs in product development in the future. That is surely the best way for even a successful company to fail.
SHALL I CRY?
I thought that Apple and I were kind of like long-time partners and that our relationship was strong and friendly. My MobileMe Account says Member Since: Jan 6, 2000. I believed that Apple respected me and would continue to make my life better. Apple has helped me to be creative and let me show to family, friends and colleagues who I was plus I could freely express myself to other members of a great Apple community around the world.
But now Apple has decided to shut down the creative works we have built together in my Gallery and on my webpages, using the tools and the support that Apple provided, without even considering its impact to me or to the Apple community as a whole. Then Apple faithful from all over kindly asked Apple to correct this obvious mistake with their postings within the Apple Communities, Facebook and other social media.
Apple didn’t reply.
Then Command Guru, an Italian software house specializing in Apple Apps, organized a petition and got more than 7500 Apple users from all around the world to raise the issue and identify the services that they didn’t want to lose. http://www.commandguru.com/blog/icloud_petition_1st_round

I am all for change when change means progress. But I don't feel that flatly dropping long-term clients or kicking them in the face is positive change. No longer partner and supported, likeable and friendly Apple has become arrogant and that make me sad.
Apple has quickly become a huge company and young, arrogant MBA's are probably driving it forward. With Steve gone, I’m certain that Tim has had to make a very special effort just to keep that Apple spirit alive. The damage that has already been done to Apple’s image hasn’t even registered yet. It’s like a flashback to an earlier time, when Steve himself was driven from Apple by those who overlooked that spirit. Driven by greed, they never recognized that it was the spirit that made Apple so successful. Maybe it’s time for a refresher on
‘how to win friends and influence people’; the basics are all there.

I have used Mobile Me for years to set up albums for clients who want to see / download quickly, what I have done. It is easy, quick and convenient, and it enables me to only allow that particular client to see the album. I can choose if anyone or no-one can see a particular album. It has also been useful in allowing the client or others to upload their own contributions, such as parties or conferences, in order to create a presentation etc. It's just so much more efficient to send pictures to a printer via MobileMe - email just doesn't have the capacity or the reliability.
iCloud uploads (streams) everything you take for all to see. Does this mean that my client will see a picture I may have taken of my wife in bed on holiday, when I only want him to see his own ugly mug? Do I have no privacy anymore?
Anyone know of a good alternative to Apple's ridiculous solution?

SmugMug seems to be the best overall option, and in many ways, exceeds what MobileMe Galleries offered. It will allow you to selectively password protect individual galleries, individual photos, or your whole photo site.
For 2 months I have been posting my concerns for MobileMe to web hosting and iCloud with 21549 views and 228 replies. Now I found this group focusing on the Gallery issue, which is essentially speaking to the same problem with just as much discontent. I too have sent my concerns to Apple and posted them to my homepage http://web.mac.com/magnant lest anyone have any doubt.
I have not moved to Cloud because I don’t want to give up what MobileMe and it predecessors have given me for ten years but I did just update to the iOS 5 on my iPhone 4. A problem made me wipe my previous iPhone settings but I found a positive surprise when I went to the Gallery app to add my friends Galleries. Using my contacts list, it offered me 28 contacts with Mac addresses, indicating that 20 of them had active Galleries. I added them all not being previously aware of some of them but that told me that 70% of them were being served in what appears to be a faster, cleaner Gallery. Now I wonder how big the Gallery community actually is and is there any hope?
My latest Gallery posting watches my grandbabies Lily and Ella and their iMac using Mac OS 9 to interact with Dr. Seuss's ABC's and each other, like puppies playing. You may think this is something that only an Apple junkie grandfather could get excited over. However I'm sure there are many parents and grandparents out there who understand just how special these personal interactions are. I just moved a couple of my older clips of Ella growing with her iMacs into the first row of movies so you can plainly see, Ella, 6, is now passing on the experience to Lily, which started 4 years ago when she was the same size. Enjoy them while you can! And Apple, please don’t miss the boat on this. Don't let this all crash next June.
I like SmugMug and I'm finding that it has many more options and features than MobileMe Gallery; however, the one key feature I like is the seemless integration and sync with iPhoto. When I make changes in iPhoto images they apply immediately to my online MobileMe Gallery. The only other software and online gallery that offers this is Google's Picasa. I really hope Apple decides to keep MobileMe Gallery -- it's a key feature in iPhoto.
I've been looking at a lot of commments about icloud...Lion and what to do. The most important elements of Mobile to me are the very ones that are being eliminated. Web hosting and iDisk. iDisk has been central to our customers who are transfering file to us. I lknow I can find another web host...and I will gladly. No more "services" from Apple for me...thank you very much.
I would like to keep my mac e-mail address, but based on my "research" you have to upgrade to Lion to get icloud. I can, with a lot of effort, change my e-mail.
My livelyhood depends on Adobe software and I have read horror stories reagarding Illustrator and Photoshop in relationship to Lion. I literally can't afford to have issues in this regard.
I really don't care about "syncing" here and there and everywhere. And I can go to any number of very inexpensive web hosting services.
I've worked on macs since the beginning...love the macs...no longer fond of Apple.
