Ever since I update the IOS 5 software my phone will not sync audiobooks that I download from the library. Everything is working like it should, iTunes is converting it and transferring it through OverDrive, the new little sync symbols working but when it should be on the phone I now get an error "1 item could not be synced. See iTunes for more information" I've serched everywhere's for a solution!! Anyone come across this issue?? Thanks
Exactly the same problem here. The audio data syncs but the last item (probably the metadata with the chapter information) won't sync.
My problem is nothing actually syncs. After each part of the book syncs I get that error message.
I also have the same issue. I am so hooked on audio books, I may revert to a lower IOS if this issue is not resolved.

I have sync errors and it shows up on iTunes as numbered files, but nothing on the iPhone 4 -- very frustrating. I can downloand mp3 books but they show up as music and can't easily be stopped and started. I tried contact Overdrive but they send you to your local library. I've gotten no response from my library yet. I've uninstalled both programs and reinstalled to no avail.
Same problem here with my ipod touch 4g. How do I get rid of the newer operating system? I just want to listen to my book!
I don't have a clue how to downgrade the software sorry!! Wish I did!!
kimbreleenh, the way I use the mp3's is I import them into my itunes manually. Once you've done that go under your music folder find the book, right click, choose get info, go to the options tab and change the media type to audiobook. It will automatically go into your books. Then you can sync them to your phone and it will show up under audiobooks!!
I upgraded my iphone to OS 5 and have the same issue. Can't play my audiobooks synced with overdrive from my public library. Apple please fix this quick!

missi1197, That suggestion of changing mp3 to audio book type just saved me many a headache. I used to import mp3 books form audio cd's, then place them in a play list, and remember where I left off each time I stopped listening. You just made my day. Thanks Scott

missi1197 - Thank you for the tip -- that worked very well! I can work with that solution until they fix the bug. My problem is that I had held copies of WMA books (because that's what I usually get because they stay on my device indefinitely) and there's a lot more selection of WMA books through my library. Hoping OverDrive can fix this quickly!
Your welcome. My problem is that for some reason when I synced my phone after the update was complete and while it was still showing manually manage music it still wiped out everything. So I lost the 8 books I had on there. My new 4s will be here today so I guess I'll get over it and be satisfied that OverDrive is working on a fix!! It's just aggravating that after waiting sometimes months for a book you have to start all over again because of this!!

You can't , I called apple and they said once you update the software you are married to it, can't undo the update. I hate it I want to listen to my books.
Phone won't sync OverDrive books anymore.
