My New Yorker app won't download issues

After downloading the Cloud to my Ipad 2, New Yorker App won't download issues. I get error message: Cannot start the download because the file is missing or invalid.

iPad 2, iOS 5, Cloud

I agree that the NY'er app is terrible for downloading. I can't tell if this is an app problem or a newstand issue. Whatever the case I have the same pausing and downloading problem but have found a workaround which seems to do the trick. Open the app while your wireless connection is off, then with the app open, go to your wireless and turn it on. Then downloads seem to be seamless and do not pause or have any issues.

I think it has something to do with the app checking for new issues perhaps...

One of the reasons why I think this may not be a NY'er app problem is that my other magazine subscriptions have the same issue including WIRED, Nat Geo and Atlantic Monthly....So that would point back to the ipad/itunes store download process in some way.

In any case, this workaround works for me (doing it as I write right now...)

I was having the same problem. I found a fix that works for me. When looking at the available issues in the library, tap the "Sign Out" button at the top left of the screen. Issues then successfully download. Periodically the app will ask me to sign back in - doing so invariably causes the "file missing or invalid error." Signing back out fixes this. I hope this helps!

BTW, this is using an iPad 1, latest iOS, and version 3.7.1 of the New Yorker app. Oh, and Conde Nast & New Yorker, your app is frustrating and buggy and your customer support is terrible.
