The reason why many are having lockups is that the following are running,
APSDaemon.exe*32 25 to 50 percent of you CPU processing power (the higher number IF you SYNC)
iTunes.exe*32 25-50 percent of your processing power (the higher number is IF you plug in device or sync)
Both of these togeather will put your system at 100 percent bringing your system to a grind or a halt
If you right click in windows task manager on APSDaemon and "end process" your system pops up to being manageable (running 50 percent with I tunes open and up to 94 percent with a mobile device like Itouch being sync(ed))
So those who can't sync or even have their computers recognize their iphones (etc).. try this. (I also went in to "settings" and 'reset sync history' in the "devices" tab. (that may have not been necessary.. but if your are sync(ing) multiple devices.. it may be necessary)
On top of that you have
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe*32 running at 20 some percent pretty constantly even when you don't have iTunes open which is dragging my system. This appears to be spiking my processor affecting my sypware/antivirus.
I hope I (we) hear more than the echo of our voices here! I'm starting to lean toward apple.. it may be my next computer.. but if this is how... I will leave this unstated and PRAY apple will help us! After all... name me a better device than even a ipod version 3 or an iphone version 3 other than a higher version ipod or iphone!!!!!
CAN'T DO IT.. CAN YOU!!!!!!!!
Computer is hptouchsmart (a processor drainiging machine as it is)
Windows vista (i know ... it *****.. )64 bit (which makes you wonder since I specifically downloaded the 64 vistta version of Itunes and I constantly get the *32 in my 'processes" window of the task manager.
THE same exact problem is happening on my Windows 7 toshiba satelite pro
