I'm also having the same issue. I can successfully share the screen and files of my Macbook to my Macbook pro, and vice versa by logging in with the local admin account (user name & pass). However, I cannot share the screen or files of either by using the apple ID's of either machine. I'm attempting to do all of through the side bar in finder. I realize there are other ways to go about this, however, I'd like to get it working the way it was intended, and without having to jump through bunch of hoops (core svcs/screen sharing, or ARD).
I've tried every possible combination of sharing preferences such as:
adding the Apple id's to each machine
setting up sharing only accounts
disabling smb & afp and re-enabling
using remote management rather than screen sharing & vice versa
I even went as far as setting up accounts on each machine with matching apple ID's
I'm running Lion 10.7.2 on both computers and getting the same error on both "When connecting it says: Authentication Failed to "_______" Please try again with different credentials.
Any info, suggestions are appreciated.
