eject dvd from eMac

It's an old problem with aging machine, but our school's limping along as best it can! One eMac has a disk stuck in the cd/dvd drive. It's operating, but won't eject. I see no "hole" to use a paperclip on (traditional solution for a Mac), and have some tools to try a more serious fix. What do you suggest? All buttons have been pushed, so what's next? Thanks!

First try a Restart while holding down the mouse button.

If that doesn’t work, look at these links:

We have both the first eMac model and the last. I just looked at both and they have manual eject holes in the same place.

Manually open the optical drive's white external door (a fingernail works). Shine a bright light on the black drive face inside. It's "black on black" so is very hard to see in room light. The hole is under the tray just to the left of the left end of the serial number sticker, and above a little gap between the white door and the main case body.

LaterMacs like these require that the compuer be powered up for teh manua eect to work. It's no longer purely mechanical as in the early optical drives.
