i'm not Einstein just normal person with 2 eyes.
so if u got at least a single eye it would be enough to see the truth.
i told u before, check out ur iphone documentations and u will find this page!!
And what in your esteemed wisdom is it that this is supposedly telling us?
I ask because this page has nothing to do with the technical specs of the iPhone 4S. This is a health related page stating US and EU determinations of acceptible radiation exposure to different frequencies.
Where would my iPhone "documentations" be Einstein?
It is a very tiny booklet included in the iPhone 4S packaging. This is a photo of page 6 under a heading Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy that starts on page 5. Of course you have to be able to read and comprehend and not just see pretty charts with numbers on the page to get the jist of what it means.
I have rocks on my patio that show more signs of possibly having intelligence than this moron. Maybe his tin hat fell off and he has gotten an overdose of radiation from his previous "smart phone."
ok genius, so do u mean EDGE producing no radiation?
that's why they did not include it in this chart!!!!
🙂
no comment!!
I think apple will release a software update with a fake 2G
just to makes u guys happy.
mean's, slow 3G connection with 5 bars signal strength!
because no way to do it hardware any more after selling a millions of units!
Happy dreams Mr. Dah ...
No, dirt for brains, the EDGE frequecies are all there. 2G and 3G are both forms of GSM and the frequencies over which they are usually deployed are 850 MHz and 1900 MHz in the US and 900 MHz and 1800 MHz in Europe.
Guys, this moron is just playin with our nerves.......just ignore him
Got it - the very tiny booklet included is the "documentations" this waste of space is referring to.
And the copy of page 6 provided reveals the GSM frequencies that represent EDGE and GPRS, which waste of space says the iPhone 4S does not include. Too funny.
I agree with Allan.
Sorry guys just now my phone turn automaticaly into EDGE due to weak signal
So i guess it has 2G support as well the 3G
Sorry again guys and looking for the new update soon.
There, there... All is forgiven
Wow this topic has really taken off since I was last on here.... Here I am eagerly, but patiently awaiting the next update to come and this whole thread is doing cirle after circle..... Do people not read the stuff that is already written in here without people like Allan Sampson and others having to repeat themselves like every 2 posts.... :-)
I was a little confused in the begining, but I understand alot more now. Allan and the others that have had to actually say stuff multiple times, great work. I would have gotten frustrated explaining things by about the 3rd time. 😝
Thank you for all guys who contributed to the discussion! All we have to do is waiting for the next patch to fix the settings.
As I allready said in 5.1 beta 3 the 2g/3g switch is again implemented, tested and worked fine. So I think in the 5.1 final version the switch will be there. So, yes, we have to wait for the final release of the 5.1 software and to hope the switch will be there. Good day to you all!

I hope, that, in addition to returning the switch, they also make the switching to 2G a bit more 'sticky'. The technical term is hysteresis. It means that if it switches, it will remain switched for a time before checking again, and not try to change during a call.
