I can turn 3G on, I can turn 3G off. They listened!
Tell rphunte42 exactly where you found the switch/toggle please.
Yes Sir! Settings, General, Network, Enable 3G toggle as the first option on screen.
same here its not there for my im using an Iphone 4s for AT&T
At first glance I thought that said Yes Siri 😁
Thanks for letting folks know where it is located. I am waiting for my iPad 2 to update to iOS 5.1, so I cannot yet update my iPhone or I would have looked for it myself.
Cool, I hope it's there for you. Judging by a few of the comments just now it seems there's further controls over who is getting it and who is not. I don't think I can deal with keeping up to date with another forum string like this one if that's the case!
Nevermind.
O2 network in the UK. I think it's owned by British Telecom.
The only cases I've seen where people don't get it are CDMA iPhones. It's not possible to turn off 3G on CDMA. Never has been.

BT do not own O2. It was sold to Telefonica in 2006.
Yep, that's what I questioned right back on about page 3 or 4 of this string in a round about way. I think you're right in that iPhones served by CDMA only carriers might not get the update.
Phew, thanks.
iPhone 4S with Telephonos Celular de Mexico (Telcel) service has the 3G On/Off switch.
It's confirmed that AT&T users have been left out from getting the switch back. Could be due to what you said about turning off their 2G network completely or some other carrier-specific issue.
In any case, the switch is back and for anyone who doesn't have it it's a carrier issue now, so address your complaints to them. (except CDMA customers because they *can't* have that switch)

Where do I find it?
