iPhone 4S unable to turn off 3G?!
How on earth do you turn off 3G on the iPhone 4S that is really stupid if they actually disabled even if it is to make Siri better

So with the update of IOS 5.1, the 3G toggle is officially available for all iphones. Guess your query is now answered 😉
So you do not actually read any of the posts? Because the AT&T folks say that they did not get the 3G switch.
Well this is not just for the AT&T discussions is it ? When i said officialy its generic, applicable to 4S users around the Globe !!!
Reread what you wrote, you stated all iPhones and that is not the case.
IT HAS FINALY ARRIVED!!!!! update ur iphone 4s to 5.1 and u'll be able to turn off ur 3g through ur general - network setting
not yet... i have iphone 4s and i've upgrade it to iOS 5.1 . its still missing. i live in UK and i using 3 Mobile Provider..
The switch was in up to the GM build of 5.1, but it was removed when apple and AT&T decided to display 4G vs 3G
So if u want it, stick to a beta release of 5.1
I'm not switching to the public release of 5.1 until someone gets their head out of their #^##es and puts it back in.
Oke, but how can I downgrade my 5.1 iOS to 5.1 beta? I would like edge coverage, because i have to communicate with my phone number...
This can't be discussed here. Even if your could revert to a beta, the beta will eventually expire.
Actually they don't expire. Once installed an iOS version NEVER expires. Even a beta. However apple usually stops signing prev iOS versions and betas preventing installation. But once installed on a device, it NEVER "expires"
The only risk u run if u have to perform a restore. Then apple forces u to the current version
Since the 3G on off switch was fully functional in 5.1 beta, I'd suggest a mass feedback to apple restoring it
The 4G symbol changes nothing. It's still 3.5g and not true 4g. Sounds like a bad marketing / or attempt
Are you speaking specifically of AT&T phones not getting the switch in iOS 5.1? Lots of the rest of us with other carriers did get it.
I ask because your comments are mostly rambling incoherently.
Yes I'm AT&T. I have a feeling AT&T pressured apple into disabling that switch for some unknown reason. Until apple/AT&T fixes it, I refuse to upgrade further than 5.1 GM build. 3G is 100% fine outside my house but I only get 1 bar inside and I miss calls and they are dropped unless I'm on edge network. (I've tried 4 other friends iPhones they all get crap 3G inside my house)
IMO if the signal goes under 2 bars, the phone should auto fallback
Actually my comments are quite coherent and specific
