Delete one iCloud account

Hi.

Like many people, I also have two iCloud accounts. One stems from iTunes purchasing, another stems from MobileMe.

All I used the MobileMe-iCloud account for was e-mail.

So I've decided I want to keep the iTunes-purchasing-iCloud account, and I would like to delete the MobileMe-iCloud account.

That should allow me to open up an e-mail acount in the iTunes-purchasing-iCloud account with the same "e-mail handle" that I used at the MobileMe-iCloud account, right?

So the question is, how do I close this iCloud account?

I believe you can simply sign out of the original iCloud account you set up. Make sure you sign out everywhere - iMac, iPhone, etc.

Then, create a new iCloud account, using your existing/original Apple ID. That way, your iCloud account and your iTunes/purchasing account will be the same. Then sign into iCloud on all your devices. (Be aware, though, that your old Apple ID must be an email; some older IDs were single words, and must be updated so that the name and email are the same.)

The only thing to keep in mind is that your old @me.com email cannot be tied to your old Apple ID. (Apple may change this one day.)

Hope that helps.
