    Hello all,

I have been having this same issue with my iPhone 4S. I got a replacement for a defective unit (not this issue) and the replacement has had this weird color cast/white balance issue, mostly looking like it had a yellow tint compared to my iMac, New iPad, and previous iPhone.

I went in to the Genius bar today to see if they would exchange it once again. The guy that helped was a little hesitant about the issue (he had seen the issue before) and explained that it was a tough position to be in. He pulled out a replacement that he would have given me had I chose to take it, but once we went through set up we saw that the replacement was worse than the one I already had. I decided against it the trade and to stick with the same iPhone.

At this point I was pretty disappointed. I got home and started Googling (get your mind out the gutter :-) and came across a suggestion to use Color Profiles 1.1 (an app in Cydia). It is a paid app for $1.99 but I ended up getting a cracked version (I know, I know, but I am cheap). The suggestion said to use one of the color tint profiles and adjust it from there, but for me all that did was replace one Color Cast with another so I went with None for Profile.

Instead, I went into the Advanced options where Gamma Levels can be changed. I messed with these a bit until I reached the sweet spot (referencing a screenshot of the menu I was in that I transferred to the iPad and the iMac). Now my iPhone looks great and normal.

What I discovered in doing this is what took me by surprise. I figured that adjusting the settings in Gamma/Profile was gonna change the software output image (i.e. what I would get from a screenshot) but it doesnt. Taking a screenshot of it now looks the same as it did before on the iPad and iMac (which is good!). Instead adjusting the Gamma just changes the how the screen represents the image.

My takeaway from this is that this issue is not hardware related (it would be like saying my iMac display is busted because someone changed my Display preferences) it is a simple recalibration of the Gamma Levels!

What does not make sense, however, is why Apple would not allow end user's to adjust these settings on their iOS devices like they already do on their OSX devices. That would clear up the issue for all the folks experiencing/noticing the issue.

My iPhone looks great now and is perfectly matched with the color profile on my iMac. The one downside to using Color Profiles is that the knobs are frikking frustrating to move precisely given the size of the iPhone's screen. It took a lot of patience and trial and error to get it just right.

    Hope this helps folks!

    P.S. Thank goodness for Jailbreaking!

The problem with  tint issue is not glue related but IPS And quality control.

Dell has been known for the same issues with there IPS monitor line.

Some are good/yellow/green/magenta.The only way to handle the color problem is to ad the less bright color. For Yellow its Magenta and a bit Blue.

Get "Color Profiles" app and set slider Color temp between T and U and profile "Magenta" between L and E for Yellow tint issues.

    Opa diego. Tudo bem.

    Opa, bom dia!

    Realmente compramos um iFake 4S...rs...

É incrível o poder do Marketing né??

If you JB and have Springtomize installed, there is a Gamma adjuster in Animations.

Hey guys , I have the same problem , the screen of my iPhone 4S (64gig white color) is yellow. Actually I noticed that instantly but I deceived myself and made myself fool into thinking that there must be something wrong with my eyes. So i even did not bother myself to google this issue until today. Oh god , I did not believe in my eyes but believed in Apple.

Now my problem is no longer related to my iPhone , my new problem is that i can not forgive myself.

P.S my iPhone is not jailbroken , then how can I get this Color Profile ?

So this issue has really bothered me.  I've had 3 iphone 4s's and all have been yellow, yet a one year old 4s someone else has near me is not yellow.  The apple store employees were not friendly about it, and asked me how many times will I come in until i'm satisfied.  They really treated me like I was an idiot and fabricating this issue.

So now I'm waiting for my fourth 4s to come in the mail and I really hope I finally get a "normal" colored screen.  This is terrible and apple should ADMIT that this is an issue to the public.

The apple care represenative told me that this is a known defect, and that the apple store should crack open as many boxes as it takes to ensure i'm satisfied, but, of course, they aren't that friendly.  Apple should sell us what is advertised.  The phones at the store do not have a yellow tinted screen, why do you keep trying to pawn this yellow screens on the customer?

you are right, I have color profiles, and I set the gamma level make the trick. it's whiter now.

PLUS: I am very rarely being in this forum until my last post about weeks ago. I found some of the Admins in this forum are useless and somehow discriminated to some people. While I talked about "color profiles" here, they removed my posts and sent my the warning mails that told me this forum is not allowed to say anything about JB, OK, I shut my month up. But now, what I see is....!!! Wow, many of you are talking about JB twist. And many of these posts still remain here. I suggest some of the Admins resign from this forum if you can't handle the issues. where are your qulification as the admins? Which forum rules tell you to allow some of whom can have previliege to say something that the other people can't say here?

I have the same trouble (iPhone 4S screen tint) and just now I realize that when I compare with my friend's iPhone 4. They change to another iPhone 4S?! I'm really disappointed with Apple... I paid almost for a iPhone 4S unlock 64GB.
