    Hey -

Try this and see if it works for you...

I setup Outlook 2011 for Mac using the following, and had no problems at all sending or receiving email. See below:

    IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:

    • Server name: p01-imap.mail.me.com
    • SSL Required: Yes
    • Port: 993
    • Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    • Password: Your iCloud password

    SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:

    • Server name: p01-smtp.mail.me.com
    • SSL Required: Yes
    • Port: 587
    • SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
    • Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
    • Password: Your iCloud password

    Additional Information

SSL is required for both IMAP and SMTP connection with iCloud. POP is not supported by iCloud.

    Hello,

I'm pretty sure that Outlook is not compatible with iCloud or MobileMe i think that Apple, inc. is against microsoft.

Yes it is incompatibel and nowhere says Apple that you could use Outlook for Mac with iCloud. On Windows, but not on OS X. Learn understanding "system requirements".

Microsoft has excluded components in Mac Outlook that are needed. So blame them.

Outlook worked just great using MobileMe. However, I am still unable to use Outlook 2011 sending email using my Apple .me or .mac addresses.

I attempted using the suggested information from dontheilluminator (above), but dosen't seem to work for me.

That's weird.  It has been working for me since I used those settings.  I'm using Outlook 2011 on Lion with no errors being reported.

    Check out my settings below:

I attempted to use those settings, but not having any luck.
Apple support; http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864 gives the following instructions, but I am not having any luck there either.

    Ah, I see.

Please try the p01-imap.mail.me.com and p01-smtp.mail.me.com.

Once I added the p01, it worked flawlessly.

That was my first attempt after seeing your recommendation. I could not get that to work, so tryed the link from apple link above. Where did you get the idea to incert the p01- from? Just curious...

Wait, for your user name, enter your full e-mail address - username@me.com

I have my full e-mail entered as my user name.

I got the p01 from the posts related outlook setup for Windows.  See thread below:

During the beta testing of iCloud, Apple set-up mail servers (p01) - (p99) -imap.mail.me.com and different user accounts were assigned to different servers. Presumably, this was to spread the load across different servers during testing.

Now that iCloud has launched, all user accounts should point to the same mail server hostname imap.mail.me.com - although this doesn't seem to have occurred in all cases.

Some people have reported that changing their iCloud password allows them to access their email from the published imap.mail.me.com server address. So try that first.

Also, try changing the DNS servers your computer uses to Google DNS or Open DNS in case the server details have not propagated correctly to your ISPs DNS servers.

Okay... When using the p01 prefix Outlook gives an error something like"could not connect to server. Make sure you are connected to the internet". Using my user name (with @me.com added), I get an error from Outlook that says, An unknown error has occurred in Outlook" when using Imap.mail.me.com and SMTP,mail.me.com.

I have always used my Dot Mac (not Dot Me) as a user name from the beginning, and also for iTunes. That IS my Aplel ID.

I am already using Open DNS as my server.

I seem to receive email sent through my Dot ME or Dot Mac email addresses which I use as default addresses, and have the forwarded to my actual ISP email adddress. My problem occurs when I attempt to use the iCloud address when sending emails from my Mac. I have always been able to accomplish this with MobileMe.

Thank everyone for your help so far.

    Glenn

I for one am sick of these upgrades that are full of bugs.  I can't imagine why anyone thinks "Mail" app is okay.  I have used Outlook for years because it is superior!  This should not have to be so difficult!

If you take a look at one of my previous posts, you will see that I mistakenly inserted .imap qinstead of smpt for my outgoing mail. Changing this setting fixed. My problem. I knew better, but it just slipped by me. I did, however, have to use my user name with the @ .me.com too. All is working fine now except I am NOT ably to save " sent" emails to the iCloud server.  Outlook 2011 gives me an error that " sent" mail has could not be saved on the server, but will be saved locally. I guess I can live with that. I just wish I could turn off that warning.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. However, not everybody shares your view.
