New Apple iPhone remote and iOS Keynote 1.5 not working

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2 to iOS 5 and updated my iWork aps and Apple Remote on my iPhone. Now I cannot get Apple Remote and my iPad Keynote to talk via bluetooth. Tried for an hour, doing everything including a hard restart. Anyone else have any problems with this? It impacts my class lectures so am looking forward to its solution. Before the update all was working just fine.

Yep - same here - exactly the same situation. Doing presentations using the iPad2 and iPhone 4 via the remote and bluetooth was why I finally bought the iPad2 and up until the OS5 upgrade everything worked fine. When I had no wiFi connection the bluetooth connecetd straight away no matter where I was. Now I can only connect when I'm on my home wifi network which is pointless as I'm not doing my presentations at home! Tried everything like Arthur but no luck. Must be the OS5 upgrade and a compatability issue with either Keynote or the Keynote remote app. Please fix asap!

Same problem here. Apple has to provide an update. I'm using latest version of Keynote for iPad, Keynote Remote for iPhone 4 and iOS 5. Bluetooth connection just won't work, and have spent two hours or more trying every trick in the book. It did work with previous iOS. This is particularly important when attempting to control multiple iPads with a single iPhone, which is what I'm trying to do for a board presentation. Apple, please fix ASAP.

I feel the pain. I had to give a presentation in front of over 200 and had to apologize that after the update my great rock-solid system wasn't working any more. Instead of controlling the ipad from in front of the group (the AV connections were in the back) I had to walk to the back and do it from there. Very embarresing!!!!! Please get this fixed Apple.

I'm in the same boat. For some reason, I cannot get Keynote remote working using my university's WiFi, and BlueTooth doesn't work either. I am also running iOS 5 on both the iPad and my iPod touch, so probably it is the same issue as above. I had also noticed that the BlueTooth symbol disappeared when I left the settings page, and I would guess that lsimoes is right, iOS5 is simply turning it off when leaving the page...

Hi,

I have the same problem including at Uni' But I have a fix if it helps regarding the Keynote Remote App'.

To get your iPhone and iPad working together ( so you can use Keynote Remote ) try this.

Turn off Wi-Fi on both

Go to Settings on iPhone and turn on "personal Hotspot", it will say that it wants to turn on both Wi-fi & Bluetooth, let it.

On iPad turn on Bluetooth

Back to iPhone and I turn off wi-fi only, SO you should only have on Bluetooth on both plus Personal Hotspot,

If you have Settings/Bluetooth open on both, you should see them trying to find each other, also

small Blue bar at the top of iPhone will show " Personal Hotspot connection".

On the iPad under "Devices" your iPhone name should appear, click on the name ( not Blue icon ) it will find the phone and say 'Connected" ( I hope )

Open up your Keynote Pres' on iPad, start The KN App' in iPhone and it should all work, fingers crossed.

Best of luck and I hope this helps

Let me know if you have problems.
