canceling sync with iTunes in OS5

I have just updated my phone to OS5 and updated my Mac to Lion. Most of my musin on my phone is gone and when I try to sync to my Mac, it starts to sync on both devices then it says "canceling sync"

HELP!

I have tried everything I can think of.
