The cd's i burn with itunes on my G5 10.5.8, and my macbook 10.6.8 will not play on my home stero or in my car.
I have tried two types of CD's. Does anyone know what the problem is? the disks burned on my much older laptop were fine.

What format are you selecting? Audio CD or mp3CD? Not all players can do mp3. Since this is happening on two machines it seems unlikely it is the media or burners. How old are the players being used? If they are old they may need fostering to be able to handle burned CDs. My 17 year old boombox is very finicky and I have to use a slow burn speed to ensure best quality.

My home player is old, but the cd's I burned on old computer a few weeks ago were fine. Car player is
a 2006 toyota highlander... should be fine I think.
ps. they play fine on the computers.
For me it is iTunes Preferences > Advanced > Burning but I have a much older version of iTunes.
Hi, That's what I tried at first and the burning part wasn't there. However I figured it out.
The very first window that shows up after putting the CD in is a drop down window that I didn't know about.
So... choose "open in itunes"-then make a playlist, and burn! It worked in both my player and the car!!!!
I've used a hugh stack of CD's trying different things... but at last I think I got it. It looks different on
my newer computers.
