Problem to sychronize iOS 5 itunes 10.5

I am having the same problem.

The iTunes update by itself didn't trigger the problem (I used it to backup my iPhone 4 before upgrading to iOS 5). My sense is that the endless syncing started after the iOS 5.

iTunes 10.5 / iPhone 4 with iOS 5 upgrade / 10.7.2 update to OS X Lion / Mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro

Same problem with my iphone 4. I've tried to restore it but nothing. No problems with my ipad 2.

I think the problem appears when I syncronize photos with iPhoto. I tried to unflag it and works. Bad bug that need to be fixed.

I've been watching closely for a day now, and it seems that the bug is "galloping." For me, it always occurs at the very end of a sync--Step Seven (or whatever the last step may be).

The syntax is always "Waiting for . . . to be copied", but what it's purportedly waiting for changes--at least for me. Sometimes its "Waiting for items to be copied," sometimes it's "Waiting for Genius information to be copied," sometimes it's "Waiting for songs to be copied." So far I haven't caught it waiting for photos.

And in all cases, the wait is endless--I let it churn-away for six hours last night to no avail.

I've also noticed that manual backups per se seem to completed, even if the sync isn't.

I should also add that after upgrading to iOS 5, I experience the infamous missing music and photos. (I simply resynced and got both back.)

Whether this initial bad transfer of the specified music and photos has anything to do with the endless syncing, I've no idea.

I upgraded my iTunes yesterday on my iMac, then upgraded my iPad and iPhone 3Gs to iOS 5 but they have no music, videos or photos on them. Also, the iCloud back up does not seem to work and I keep getting messages saying that there was "an error" backing up my iPhone, do I want to continue restoring? If I click on continue it just gives me the same error message and then it keeps going throygh the same steps. My partner has just updated his iTunes and iPhone on a windows 7 laptop and all is fine. ***? I cannot find a phone number to call Apple (UK) to report it.

well i got the solution of this problem its kind a stupid but worked for me

iTunes 10.5

iPhone 3gs iOS5

1) uncheck all the apps (in apps section) and hit sync (yes it will delete all apps from iPhone)

2) check all the apps which you want check all the songs and all the ringtones and other stuff hit sync

This will sync all what you want! (worked perfect on both wifi & USB)

I have so many issues with sync I can't be bothered to list them all... seriously.

In no particular order:

1. iTunes opens all by itself, apparently kicked into action by my iPhone over wireless. I close it, it reopens 3 minutes later. I tell it not to by unchecking the box that says to not open iTunes when iPhone connected, and it says... sorry, can't find an iPhone to sync with, after having repeatedly opened iTunes because of it.

2. When I do get it to work, it syncs and then decides, no, I will wait 200 days + on applying changes.

many many many more issues, all around sync.

Tell me... how can I trust my iPhone on Wi-Fi, if I have to sit there and watch it do it to see if it is successfully, all the time. I have to have my iPhone next to my computer, plugged into the mains, next to the computer but not in it, just to hope this features works each time. I am on my knees, watching it intently. I waste a lot of time, because half the time it doesn't work, so let's say, 30 minutes of plugging and unplugging, and then 10 minutes of watching it to see if it finishes. 40 minutes each day.

The worst thing is I can't give up and go back to just using the cable, because whoever designed this shanky flaky wi-fi syncing software, made the same screwy changes to cable sync too, so it acts in exactly the same way... unreliable, unsure of itself, unpredictable.

The ads show them just leaving that thing docked and syncing through the noght - if I trusted my iPhone to do that, I wouldn't have an iPhone by morning. I would have a shiny brick.

I shouldn't have to hold iTunes' hand and babysit it through. Seriously, and I mean, seriously, they Cannot have fully tested this software before releasing it. Ego kicked in and they assumed their brillance "just works" because SO many people are having all of these issues and more.

Their programmers need to be paid a hack of a lot less if this is the "AOL" type work they are going to be doing from now on.

I have the same problem with my iPad 1 (iOS 5) while syncing with my MacBook (OS X 10.7.2, iTunes 10.5)...what can I do?

I am running into the same issue running IOS 5 and iTune 10.5. This started happening after iTunes and iOS update and is happening with iPad and iPhone.

Has anyone found a solution?

Now iTunes store will not open and my iPhone 4 and 3gs will not sychronize. This just started 2 days ago. With so many people having the same problem you think they would fix it. I miss Steve.
