Based on the new section in the Aperture user manual (since I have not used Photostream yet) it appears that you can't delete individual photos from Photostream.

Here is the relevant page in the manual:

http://documentation.apple.com/en/aperture/usermanual/index.html#chapter=14%26se ction=2%26tasks=true

The bottom section of that page outlines manually working with Photostream and Aperture. It states a few times that individual images cannot be deleted. It also states that you can reset Photostream, but includes a warning in blue text. 😉

I know their solution is to delete them all, but thats not good, there needs to be a solution on all devices and aperture to delete a single image at a time.

aside from that, I did what they say, turned it back on in aperture and guess what... they all loaded again.

I certainly don't disagree. The all or nothing approach seems like a lack of forethought. Hopefully, they plan to change that one.

Can you make a smart album (perhaps by using 'photo stream' as a keyword and assigning it) and then select the smart album to define the images (and only the images) you want to upload?

Perhaps worth a try (and if you feel like it; report back to let us know if it works). 🙂

Does seem odd, but Apple has been clear from the start that you are not able to delete single pictures from your Photostream. Right on the iCloud features Photostream page it says in the second paragraph, "You can’t edit or delete photos from your Photo Stream". This is repeated in the User Manual ("Individual photos can’t be deleted from your Photo Stream in Aperture".)

Photostream on iCloud is a First-in/Last-out, time-limited temporary repository. It isn't -- and Apple doesn't seem to want it to be -- used for actual storage or transfer of individual files.
