Cannot convert Apple account to iCloud account without a Mac or iOS device? No conversion process for people with just a PC?

I am having the exact same issue and would also like an answer.

I am also running Windows 7 with iTunes 10.5

Same problem...Windows 7, iTunes 10.5. I can't login to the iCloud Control Panel, but my auto-download content DOES sync to multiple PC sources (as defined in Preferences). I'm not sure what I'm going to get extra by having the iCloud Control Panel available, but I'd like to find out.

I was worried having an old non-email Apple ID with converting my ID to something else.

I had to setup an email account and verify that, then change to new ID using email address, and also change password.

Nothing to add, but that I'm in the same boat here. Want to use the service, but find it difficult to connect. Have a PC with itunes, Windows 7, and the rest. Seems like this is something that could have been anticapated.

But I already have Windows 7, iTunes 10.5 and iCloud 1.0 installed.

It appears that we can't access iCloud if you ONLY have iTunes on Windows.

I found on this tidbit interesting in this link:

Note: To create an iCloud account you need an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 5, or a Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.2.

I don't see anything there about creating an iCloud account using iTunes/iCloud on Windows only.

Hopefully, Apple will fix this with the next version of iCloud or sooner.

After doing all of the above .. this message still occurs when trying to log into iCloud from Windows:

Cannot Sign Up

This Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account.
