How do I register numbers on iMessage

You can register numbers by goin into contacts and putting in their numbers or email adresses.

iMessage only lets you send messages to other people using an iPhone, iPod Touch or the iPad. You cannot send texts to other makes of mobile phones. If they have one of the three iOS devices I mentioned above, they need to open the app and follow the on-screen instructions. If they have either an iPad or and iPod Touch, their iMessage address will be their email address and if they have an iPhone the iMessage address will be their phone number.

i cant do it either, when adding contacts it still says they arent registered?

in order to send an imessage to your already existing contacts they have to have the new version of IOS 5, and they have to activate the imessage from settings just like you did. If they have not done that then you cannot send them an imessage and they cannot send one either. hope this answers your question.
