Sound issues using FaceTime on Mac!!

I was using FaceTime perfectly fine. And then out of no where, sound just stopped working. This happened before and then suddenly started working again. I can hear the other person just fine but they can't hear me. I've checked the 'video' option making sure internal speakers are selected. And then systems>preferences>sound, i made sure the input and output sound were not muted. I've restarted computer a few times too. Please help!!!

Just want to include myself as one of the facetime app users who has been experiencing this problem. Unfortunately, I have experienced this frequently over the last few months. I can talk with my friend fine for about 20 minutes then suddenly out of no where, my friend cannot hear me? We can sign onto google and hear each other just fine when this happens, but I don't think I should have to settle for that as an alternative? There has to be a better "fix". thanks, looking forward to hearing more about this problem and how to fix it.

What a bummer, my issue with facetime has been going on a while, it wasn't until it bacame a 99cent app, that I realized that I had been using the Beta facetime up to that time. I paid my 99 cents last week and immediately was not able to communicate with my brother. So, I decided, since it is out of Beta, time to report this. I wish they would help with this? Or least communicate with us? right?

Let me also join the group of those that can not hear sound on face time. I have a Mac Book Pro and a Mac Book I can be heard on the Mac Book but can not hear a response on the Mac Book Pro. The one difference I did notice was if you look on the pull down window under video the microphone set up was not listed on the Mac Book Pro. But it is listed on the Mac Book.

I've also had sound issues with facetime ever since I bought my mac desktop in august of this year. But usually when I restart my computer the sound works again, but this isn't very ideal. Just a few minutes ago I was on facetime and every 5 minutes the sound was cutting out! I could hear them perfectly but they couldn't hear me. Very frustrating! Need Answers!!

Facetime on my Macbook Pro, use to work fine, I have had my MBP for roughly 6 months. Brand New, worked fine and outta nowhere facetime started to be a problem. Callin and receiving fine, I can hear others, yet within the first five minutes when we are talking they can't hear me. All system chacks are a go. input mic is correct levels are correct. Please fix this Apple.

I am also having the same problem. I bought my MacBook Pro in May 2011 and was using FaceTime yesterday to chat to my sister in the UK, she was using the iPhone 4s. After approx 50 mins into the conversation she was no longer able to hear me but I could hear her. Using my iPhone 4 IOS 5 appeared to work fine also. After approx 20 - 30 mins I went back to using FaceTime on my MacBook Pro and her iPhone and again after about 40 - 50 mins she could not hear me which was very frustrating. Is it a problem with IOS 5 or the MacBook Pro? It would be great if Apple could let us know what the problem is and fix it very soon as others seem to have been having this problem for a long time.

Me too, People. I just bought FaceTime from the Apple Store, and it hasn't worked yet. I tried it from my imac (snow leopard) to 2 different iphones. Each time they received the call fine. I could hear them, BUT THEY COULDN'T HEAR ME. Seems to be a chronic complaint.

I guess we're all just going to have to kiss our .99 goodbye and use Skype - IT still works... Steve Jobs would NOT be amused... especially at the fact that the Apple guys are not responding to the pleas on this page. If a good company puts out a less than adequate product, then it's important that a solution to the issues become a priority to that company. Otherwise customers will lose faith. It's just the law of the consumer jungle.
