I am having trouble setting up my Yahoo email account on my IPhone 4S.

Yes - same issue. I am able to work my yahoo email fine on my iPad, but just bought the iPhone 4s today and cannot set it up for the same reason you state.

I walked through the advanced sections of both iPad and iPhone and they are set up the same, so I have no idea why this is not working.

When setting up you email, do not click on the Yahoo! Use "Other" and follow the promps. Use imap.mail.yahoo.com as your Incoming Mail Server, and smtp.mail.yahoo.com as your Outgoing Mail Server.

My friend is having the same issue and the fix worked, but now when you delete emails off of the phone it does not delete them off of his yahoo account however the iPad does delete them off of the server. Is there any fix to this?

Tried to follow the fix, but still having trouble. It asks for a user name under "incoming mail server". I put in my email address but got a message that it may not work and when I went to messages nothing appeared so I'm still not receiving them. What user name am I supposed to be entering?

Hi Jack--still didn't work--still getting that message about the server. The mail is going to my outbox. Any other suggestions?

Right with everyone else. And this fixed it completely. Mine is deleting from my iPad and my main account also.

Whatever name your account is using. Look on the first setup page. You'll see name and email address. It's usually your address without @yahoo.com.

Hi Jack I am new to forum and have seen many people thanking you and it appears well deserved. I have a 3GS I recently added a yahoo email account then I wanted to check out out the yahoo Calender instead of using Outlook. It said I needed iCal app which I found and went on to update it and had trouble got frustrated and stopped. I do have the Yahoo email but now I have lost all my contacts (Oh my God) and calender events but what's strange is though I do not see the calender appointments the reminders are still popping up. What did I _ _ _ k up. Can you offer any solutions. Please remember I am old school and not very computer savvy.
