Siri issue

I got the new iPhone 4s today and Siri was working perfectly but after a couple hours it stopped reading text messages to me. Everything else still works though

Siri is not working at all on my Sprint 32GB Black iPhone 4S. Not a single command is recognized. I was in the Apple Store today (very loud with lots of background noise) and every demo phone worked fine. When mine arrived... nothing. No Siri. 😟 Keeps saying "Sorry Something''s gone wrong. Can you try that again?" or "Uh oh, there's a problem. Can you try again?".

I am going to bet that the servers that handle the dictation and Siri backend are overloaded and they are racing to implement failover servers for all of the unexpected traffic. They're saying over 1 million iPhone 4S were going to be activated today. That's a lot of people playing with software that didn't have the infrastructure in place to handle it. Give them a couple days to get more hardware in place to handle all of the unexpected traffic and I'm pretty sure that Siri will come back online..... If it were SkyNet people wouldn't be complaining it was offline.

I got my (Verizon) 4S last night, and Siri worked fine. Today, it completely crapped out. Doesn't work at all. Just long delays and then I finally get message saying something like, "Sorry I cannot connect to the network."

What is this-- a Microsoft product? Gonna take 3 versions to get it right? C'mon Apple. Even if it's "just" a server issue, you should have anticipated this level of traffic. You've spoiled us with fantastic products that work out of the box. Don't blow it now.

BTW, if you turn Siri off/on, you get a warning that info on the servers will be lost and that it will "take time" to update the info when you turn Siri back on. I opted not to do this. Who knows how long it could take to reinstate my info on the server.

I'm also having problems with Siri today, it's just not working at all. I wasn't aware it depended on network connectivity to function - but I suppose this makes sense as there's a much larger sampling of voice data available. Siri isn't too bad, it has some rough spots -- and I wonder if it has any "learning" capability (I haven't seen any specs).

Today, Siri is on strike with Occupy Wall Street, so I gave him some time off :-) GRIN

Got my 4S on Friday. Siri worked great then stopped ('unable to connect to the network'). so I spent 2 hours with apple tech support and they said there was already an update available due to things they hadnt anticipated. so i got the "update" on a day old product. siri was then working but not for long. it does seem that its because there is an overload on the system. Earlier in the day it works well then gets less reliable (prob due to more traffic). When it works Siri is great...ask siri if she feels overworked, tell her you love her--different responses everytime....just would be nice if it worked all the time.

I got a problem with Siri ...

Siri is designed to make iPhone users be hands free especially when using the headphones with remote/mic...right?

Issue: I was walking to school with my iPhone (locked) in my pocket listening to music and decided to ask Siri to make a phone call. I realized that by activating Siri, Siri unlocked my phone and continued with my command while in my pocket, Great! As I was walking, my leg tapped the Siri button and cancelled it. In other words, Siri unlocks my phone and deactivates it when it's in my pocket by touching my leg. Not so great!

I've looked at every setting on the phone but I can't find anything to change that.

Am I missing something?

Or can this be something Apple needs to address in a IOS 5 update?
