Yes, you can access the drive via internet.

Open Airport Utility.app, double click on your Airport Extreme in the left pane or select it and hit the "Manual Setup" button.

Select the tab "Disks", next select the tab "File Sharing"

In this pane : select "Share disks over WAN"

Optionaly, you can select " Share disks over the Internet using Bonjour"
