Sync Outlook Calendar message "Apple Outlook DAV Config has stopped working"

Hi There,

I've installed the Windows iCloud Control Panel tool, and I'm trying to sync some of my Outlook data to iCloud. Contacts works fine, and tasks appeared to work fine the first time, but syncing my calendar consistently fails with this message:

"Apple Outlook DAV config has stopped working"

My calendar is rather large, but it was larger still (over 5000 entries), so I archived some older items, but it still fails now at about 1800 items out of 2000.

Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?

Hi Levanterman,

Yes I tried that, and there were errors. I fixed my pst file. But then my I got a new error. Which resulted in the process actually generating an email would you believe it to Apple support staff, I presume saying:

So you can imagine my frustration with all of this, but I agee, I think with dylanfromhuxley above, it is probably some errant specific calendar item. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to go to the trouble of "demolishing" my calendar to re-build it again, just to get the iCloud sync going ... I'l probably revert to doing good old wired syncing here, until I here confirmed reprots that that this clearly 1.0 version of the Outlook integration has matured somewhat.

Cheers,

Trevor.

Hey everyone... I have found the issue with this... It has nothing to do with archiving, or cleaning up your mailbox. It has to do with recurring appointments in your calendar. I have spent the last two days removing appointments, syncing, adding appts, syncing, etc... Also spent two hours on the phone with the helpdesk (thanks Casey). If you go to calendar views, and choose the list option, sort by recurrence. Remove all of the appointments with recurrences, and try iCloud again. This should work. You might have to redo all of your appointments that repeat.

The calendars are so annoying. I was fine before iCloud - with 2 iPads and a MacMini syncing fine with MobileMe. When we downloaded iCloud on the iPads and purchased 2 iPhone 4s' - nothing works. Many appointments were deleted altogeter, some appear double and each device has a different assortment of dates in the calendar. How can I fix this? Calendars are one of the most important features of the iPhone, iPad and desktop for me. Contacts are another issue. They're a mess, too.

I concur with Warren that the problem can be fixed by deleting the recurring appointments. Once I did that however, iCloud moved all of my contacts and calendar entries out of my Outlook Personal folders and into the iCloud Calendar space. I'm now worried that when I sync with my Blackberry that the BB sync tool will delete all of the contacts and calendar entries on the BBerry. Anyone have any ideas before I sync the BB??
