How do I turn off 3G on the iPhone 4S?

I'm in an area with somewhat spotty 3G coverage. I used to leave my old iPhone on 2G/Edge most of the time, and when I needed data would turn on 3G. This saved my battery life quite a bit. However with the 4S (AT&T) I can't seem to find any sort of option to turn off 3G. Does anyone know if its somewhere else in the settings or if its been disabled?

Thanks!

When I was using iPhone 4, I always turned off 3G and only let the phone running on EDGE, which is enough for me to receive push notification and checking tweets, and the battery can last for ~1.5 days with everything on. But with 4S, due to there is no option to toggle off 3G, the phone can barely last for half a day, and I have to charge it twice a day.

Apple said they are working on the remaining battery draining issue which couldn't be fix on iOS 5.0.1 and it's been 3 weeks since the release of iOS 5.1 beta 2. Hopefully Apple is working with Qualcomm to release the firmware update to restore the 3G on/off switch.
