I have Wi-Fi Sync active and it works great unplugged from power -- but when I plug my phone into power and it starts syncing, iTunes says the following:
"iTunes could not connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE800007F)."
Searching gives me zilch. Anyone have an ideas? Everything is running the latest verison of iOS, etc., etc...

+1 from me. I have to clear this messge 15 - 20 each time I want to use iTunes and none of my devics will sync over Wi-Fi until I clear them.

Same problem here with 64bit Vista and Iphone 4s. Can confirm non-powered syncing.
Its starting to interfere with my Minecraft, as the "auto-hide" taskbar pops back up when the error message appears in iTunes...son of a...
Another "Me too". Wifi syncing would be great if it worked. Instead I have to clear out dozens of 0xE..7F sync failure dialogs every time I use my computer. What on earth is Apple thinking popping up an error message for problems with what should be treated as a system service?

Same here, Win7 64bit. I'm not bothered so much about the error (becasue I've only get it a few times a day and wifi sync works when plugged into power)
as I am about the intermittent freezing and general unresponiveness of iTunes when this wifi-sync/error monkey business is taking place.

I have the same issue with my 3GS. iOS 5.0.1 on Windows 7 32-bit. Whenever I try to WiFi sync, my phone says "Update will resume when 'MyPC' is available."
This is the first time I've had this error, before now it just never connected at all. Now it tells me so.
Plus one here too. All of the above errors whether plugged in or not. Random messages and failurs when plugged into power. My just need to go back to wired syning for the time being..bummed.

Still happening with the most recent iTunes updates. Syncing is more unreliable/unlikely than a hobbit on a journey to mount doom.
Bump. iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 on a Macbook Pro with Lion 10.7.2
Since I started this thread, I feel it only appropriate to tell everyone that this issue -- mysterioulsy -- has completely gone away. I've done nothing different, changed no settings, no nothing -- the problem just quit happenning.

In my case the error is still happening, less frequently but usually accompanied with another error like " The iPhone cannot be synchronized because it can't be found" then the iPhone disappears from iTunes just to re-appear itself after a few minutes. I've tried everything and I cannot get rid of the issues
I just stopped bothering trying to fix it as it is annoyance and it is not preventing me to eventually sync my devices, but it remains a stain on the "perfect user experience" that Apple promises. They are just as buggy as MS or any other software writer
I am going to call Apple about this today using my coverage and post here with what they say. I'm suprised nobody has done this yet.
As for Macs, (I don't know why anyone on a PC is posting in the mac forum anyway) make sure your wifi router is on the latest firmware and that your iPhone is connecting to wifi ok in general. That's what they told me.
This advice is only slightly above the infamous "did you turn it off and on again?" and to behonest I didn't expect anything better from Apple support.
So did you tell them your router WAS on the latest firmware and your iphone WAS connecting to wifi ok in general? And theat there's a 9-page thread already on apple support forums about this?
