I keep getting an "invalid sim" error on my 4s!

Just received my new AT&T phone today. Set it up with no problems. Then I get an "invalid sim" message. After rebooting a couple of times it goes away, but it keeps coming back. Thoughts?

I already got the Invalid SIM message again. No luck with this too!

I'm waiting for a new SIM already.

The lady in the store told me that it can be related with the size of the chip...but also told me that there were no complaints that she knows of....

I'm starting to think that it's a hardware problem (faulty SIM tray or something).

I am having all of these common problems that all you guys have mentioned, I did not have any of this before I updated to iOS 5.0.1. I believe that it is just a software issue and hope apple can fix it soon. It's a shame the sofeware is so buggy because the 4S has some excellent hardware and is being dragged down by these issues. My advice to anyone would be to not update your iPhone unless you have these problems to begin with and if you do then just be patient and wait for an update because I'm sure the apple employees will address the issue.

Hi,

Updating to the latest build, still doesn't resolve the issue of the 'Invalid SIM'.

I restored my iPhone 4S as suggested on the Apple Support Forums but to no avail.
After reading randomly, I believe it has worked for some people, but not for me. Defnitely seems like a software issue.

I believe we will have to wait for Apple to come out with an actual fix for everyone facing this.

Hi, I had the same problem when I moved my dad from the iPhone 4 to the 4s. I kept getting invalid sim and no service. I had restored the iphone from itunes from his back up.

After seeing this issue I erased the iphone and set it up as a new phone. Then put back all his info and media. The problem seems to have resolved itself. Try setting up the phone as a new phone and then syncing to iTunes. Remember, complete iphone set up on the phone first.

Since I changed the Micro-Sim, the problem went away...9A406 was released to solve that issue, but I think that the sofware is not the ONLY culprit...

I had 406 installed and now I have 405 (works better for me). With the new Sim, didn't get any "Invalid Sim" message again.

P.S. The Sim I first had was also new.

Cheers!

I keep getting an "invalid sim" error on my 4s!
