iCloud and Office Mac 2011 sync

I believe iCloud doesn't sync with Office for Mac 2011. I could make the syncservice to sync my outlook for mac 2011 data with ical. But it is saved on a local calendar (on my mac) than on icloud. so the changes I make on outlook comes on my ical, not on iCloud. any help??

Maybe, but Apple don't provide dedicated, native, integrated email, contacts and calendar clients that are 100% compatible with iCloud for Windows users, do they? Windows users have to make do with Outlook, which isn't free either.

Why would Apple spend time trying to support third-party Mac software (that even their developers don't support properly) when all Macs come with 100% compatible applications anyway?

It should be Microsoft's responsibility to add support for the industry standard, cross platform sync protocols iCloud uses in its Mac products.

Other third-party Mac software developers support iCloud (like BusyCal) - why not Microsoft with Office for Mac?

I do think Apple should support Snow Leopard in iCloud though.

so we can wait for an update for the outlook for mac 2001! but I bought this only for task and sync. I live in Tasks and can't imagine a world without Task management.

whatever task i update on outlook syncs with ical quickly. but if i make a change on ical, then the formating is gone 😟

A possible work around until such an update (if indeed there is one?) is to use a dropbox account to sync all your files. Not sure if it will work as I'm not really an outlook fan and don't use ical too much. I am a heavy user of word, powerpoint & excel (Mac office 2011) and use my dropbox to keep everything synced. Worth a mention!?

I am flabbergasted. I have Mac Office 2011 with several client exchange emails. When I enabled iCloud, I assumed it would copy the calender - not destroy the existing calendar entries. That's why Apple publishes "minimum System Requirements". No word there that you can use Outlook on a Mac. So you have done something unsupported and therefore nobody is to blame but you alone.

Outlook for Mac 2011 syncs data with the syncservices which enables the same data synced with iCal on your Mac. Outlook doesn't support iCloud. If you see your outlook data on iCloud, it is becuase of the syncservices and iCal. the data has got merged.

now if you make any changes on outlook, it comes on your iCal as well, but not on iCloud. becuase iCal consideres the outlook data as the data on your local Mac and doens't care to sync with iCloud.

iCloud is useless for people like me who rely on Outlook for Mac! untill Outlook supports a direct sync.

Apple supports Windows Users far better then Mac Users, regarding this iCloud thing.

Vista and Win7 and Outlook 07 and 10 vs ONLY Lion and ONLY Apple Built in Apps.

Leaves a extremely disturbing bad taste in my mouth.

Microsoft chose not to support CalDav, Apple had nothing to do with it.

Outlook for Mac *****, it is a good thing that it doesn't work very well with Apples systems, maybe that will save a few people who might have bought it.

The data loss was caused by Microsofts decision not to support CalDav, and yours not to check before upgrading.
