iOS5 Notification Center - Problem with calendar entries

Hi,

I've just installed the iOS5 on my IPhone 4 and I find the Notification Center very usefull, but I've found a bug that's really annoying me. I want to check if someone here has a workaround or a permanent solution to the problem...

I have several calendars synced to my phone;

  • A Notes Calendar that's made available via Traveler (mail and calendar gets synced to the device via an installed profile)
  • Gmail calendars (syncing multiple calendars by first adding my account and then going to

https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect to activate other calendars available to my Gmail account)

My problem is that even if i disable all the calendars in the calendar app, events from these calendars still pop up in the Notification Center. This can't be way it's supposed to work?

Best regards,

Marcus

I've got the same exact issue. Some of the calendars I look at with my iPhone aren't mine, but I need to be able to see them at times from the calendar app. This bug renders notification center calendar view unusable for me at times. This must be fixed. A good solution would allow separate selection of calendars to view in notification center and calendar app.

Same situation here. Also, if I access one of those appointments I do not want to see from the notification center, it re-enables the calendar I marked inactive in the normal calendar application. Its making the calendar option in the notification center pointless for me because it is clogged with items I don't want or need to see.

I had the same issue, I always wondered what the point of 2 calendar's was! If I only had one ticked they both show uo notification. I went to calendars from the calendar area, hit edit, chose a calendar (either because they were both duplicates) and hit delete. Hey presto, only one calendar left & only one showing in notification. Hope this helps.

Yes, you're right. Duplicate entries isn't the problem, though in my case they were duplicates only because my Yahoo calendar was syncing with my iphone calendar. Even after I "inactivated" the account on my phone and the Yahoo calendar entries were no longer showing up on my calendar, they were still showing up on the notification screen. That's where turning off the reminders setting within the Yahoo account setup on my phone worked. Believe me, I don't get it either. It has to be a bug.
