Calendar empty after updating to iOS 5

I downloaded and updated to iOS 5 on my iPhone yesterday. I thought everything was correctly restored, untill I discovered that my calendar was totally empty. The subscribed calendars were in my calendar list but their appointments were gone. Also my manually added appointments were gone. I don't have them saved somewhere else because my iPhone calendar is my main (and only) calendar. Is there a way to get these appointments back?

I'm having the same problem. In addition to my calendar being completely empty now, I don't have the ability to add any appointments. The old "+" button in the top right corner is gone and I don't see another way to add an appointment. Have you had any luck getting your appointments backs? If so, please tell me how!

I also upgraded my 3gs to ios5 from the ipsw file. Calendar was showing only Birthdays, but now that's gone. Only says "All Calendars" but there is no + and no calendar selection buttons on top, completely brain dead. I use Darwin calendarserver with the addressbook feature. The contacts app can access all the Cardav addressbooks, but the calendar app doesn't even poll the server. It's like it never tries to connect to the caldav profiles in preferences. Preferences, by the way, can re-verify the profiles and I've even deleted and re-entered one of them. Frustrating.

My entire contact list AND every single entry I ever created in my calendar disappeared as well as all my photos when I installed iOS 5 last night... Even though I backed up my 3GS before the download I could only get data from the end of September (when I previously backed up)..

How do I get my calendar back!??? It's like my life's diary has been stolen..
