Same problem. Have iCloud working on two accounts across 3 macs, 2 iphones, and 2 ipads but cannot get it to work on a Windows 7 machine. I installed, uninstalled, reinstalled the agent for windows a couple of times and i get the same issue as the original poster.

Immediately after the install the agent synchronizes the calendar and contact. That works fine. My icloud contacts and calendar show up in Outlook 2010. But when i make changes to these items they do not get replicated back to icloud. When I go to launch the icloud control panel to try and diagnose the problem i cannot get it to open.

Here is some additional data:

The Outlook plugin is enabled.

There are two processes running: icloud and icloudservices.

The icloud icon shows up in the system tray.

When i right click on the system tray icon and attempt to open the control panel nothing happens.

When I open Windows Control Panel and attempt to launch icloud from there....nothing happens.

If i kill both processes and then click on the iCloud icon in Windows control panel, the processes restart but the iCloud GUI does not open up.

I do have the same problem on my Windows 7 64bit machine. iCloud login via control panel works fine for my original itunes id, but not for the migrated mobileme id. It works however on all other devices (iPhone, iPad, Macbook). Since the login works for my itunes id, it cannot be any firewall related issue, nor anything with the icloud control panel itself. There has to be some kind of bug with migrated mobileme accounts maybe? Hopefully someone figures it out asap.

Sorry to not being able to provide a solution here.

Hi there,

I have the same issue as described by "t_e_r_r_y".

Am running:

  • Win7 x64 SP1
  • Office 2010, x86, SP1

Outlook is connected to Exchange 2003 on the same LAN.

If I try to launch Outlook (in "normal" mode) it fails, hanging on "Starting" (it never gets any further). I see iCloud.exe load in Task Manager.

If I end process tree for iCloud, Outlook still doesn't load.

Outlook does load in Safe Mode (hold-down CTRL). I can see the iCloud plug-in is enabled though - odd.

I cannot open the iCloud control panel (through Windows Control Panel, or via the task-bar) - nothing happens.

I've repaired iCloud, no luck.

I'll keep working on it, and post any updates if I get lucky.

Hi all,
I have solved my problem. I hope it works for you too.
First I installed the uninstalled MobilMe Control Panel again.
Then I access the System via the MobileMe Control Panel.
Suddenly some message came with "migrate ..." (unfortunately, was once again away) and then opened up like a miracle the icloud Control Panel and I was with my "*. me.com" account loged in.
Then uninstall the MobileMe control panel.
Since then everything will go smoothly.
