No Twitter and Facebook Notifications

The only Twitter notifications I've received have been DMs.

I really want to get push notifications for certain people I follow. I applied a setting to these people in the Twitter app individually, but I'm still getting nothing. Any ideas?

I deleted the Facebook app from my iPhone 4S (iOS5), deleted it from iTunes, and then downloaded into iTunes and transferred it to my iPhone again. I'm now receiving push notifications, but I'll post back here if it stops working!

Got it!!!! A re-install is NOT the answer. You need to turn on individual notifications under Settings > Facebook > Push Notifications, BUT (and this is a big and confusing BUT) you also need to turn on global push settings under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendards > Fetch New Data (and change the Push slider to 'on'). This doesn't sound like it makes sense, but I guess that the push slider under 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' is actually for ALL push notifications on iPhone, and not just Mail, Contacts and Calendar apps!

Here is my experience with this issue.

First of all, I have an iPhone 4S (my first iPhone), and when I first got my iPhone in the mail and installed Facebook (fb) I was getting my fb notifications without any issues. Then after installing others apps and receiving updates, all the sudden I stopped receiving my fb notifications via fb app. The only way that I would get fb notifications was by e-mail, but I soon realized this was going to be so annoying. Thereafter, I decided to search online and see if there other customers with iPhones were having the same issues I had encountered. Surprisingly enough, I found this thread. After reading all of your comments herein, the first thing I did was to delete my fb app from my iPhone. Secondly, I deleted my fb app from my previous smartphone (bb), and thereafter, I downloaded fb onto my Mac through iTunes, and from there to my iPhone. I can now say, that thus far this has resolved my issue, and I'm now getting fb notifications on my iPone via the fb app. 😉

I'm having the same problem. No twitter notifications at all.
