iPhone 4s Battery Life?

My iPhone 4s battery seems terrible! Almost equivalent to my 3GS and it's terrible battery life. When I got my iPhone yesterday and restored from backup I noticed nothing really changed with minimal usage and standby! Is this normal or should I consider setting it up as a new phone because maybe something is running in the background that's causing it to drop a percentage every few minutes under light usage? Input would be great!

I have to admit that I had no idea that programs continued to run in the background. I even reset the phone and they still were running. I shut them all down and the battery is still at 100% after an hour of standby. I will let you all know how well it works.

I thought I would upload a photo of my iPhone 4S in discharge mode: Here it is at 97%, after having been in the charger and fully charged. It dropped down to 97% pretty rapidly after having been at 100% and still plugged in. My 4S seems to cycle between 97% and 100% on a random basis.

(And, of course, I don't know what it does when I'm sleeping or otherwise away. It may also be getting lower than 97% and I might not see that because I'm not monitoring it all the time while the phone is plugged in. Before the iOS 5.0.1 update, it cycled between 100% and 93% while plugged in.)

Hi all,

here it is my experience:

Iphone 4S 16GB White,, bought at geneva apple store (Switzerland) about a week ago, already upgraded to iOS 5.0.1

Did a full charge yesterday evening, leaving the phone connected to the power source for more then two hours after the battery gauge reached 100%, then removed from dock.

Closed all the running apps, then rebooted the phone.

Disabled SIRI, ITunes WiFI Sync, localization services, iCloud and 3G cellular data (phone was under WiFi connection however).

Leaved the phone on my deck for one night in standby, with display switched off

This morning after 7h of standby battery was at 86%, so 7 hours of standby dropped down 14% of my battery!!!

(P.S. cellular signal strength was 4bars, phone was not moved during the night)

My husband and I did the updates Friday on our phones through the software update through the Settings. He has a 3G and I have the iPhone 4.

His 3G is much worse than before.

Mine is still not as good as before the original update. Basically, it's okay until I start using it to do much more than Words w/Friends or texting.

Doesn't seem to matter if we have wi-fi or not, it just begins sucking down the battery when you begin using it alot.
